What's Happening at the College of Dentistry
Dr. Richard Williamson named interim ARD implant coordinator

Richard Williamson, DDS, a clinical instructor in the department of adult restorative dentistry, has been named the interim ARD implant coordinator. Dr. Williamson has a passion for enhancing students' implant experiences and broadening residents' implant prosthodontic knowledge. He will be working with our students, faculty and staff to provide our patients with the highest quality care.

Dr. Williamson has been a tremendous asset to the department of adult restorative dentistry since joining the college in August 2021. Previously, he had a private general dentistry practice in College Station, Texas, for 17 years and worked at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry for 20 years in the departments of prosthodontics and family dentistry.

Congratulations, Dr. Williamson, on your new appointment! Please feel free to reach out to him directly with any questions.
University climate survey closes on Nov. 5

This week, all university employees were emailed the University of Nebraska Climate Survey. The email came from Gallup.

This survey will help university leaders gain a broad assessment of strengths and opportunities in making the University of Nebraska a great place to teach, study and serve. You are asked to share your opinions on areas such as workplace satisfaction and diversity and inclusion. Answers will be completely confidential.

The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and may be done from a desktop or smartphone. Please respond to the survey as soon as possible, but no later than Friday, Nov. 5.

A separate survey assessing students’ experience was sent to all University of Nebraska students.

Trust is topic of Oct. 14 "Conversations for Inclusive Excellence"

The UNMC community is invited to explore the idea of trust during the Thursday, Oct. 14 "Conversations for Inclusive Excellence." The virtual event will run from 2 - 3 p.m.

Harvard Business School professor Frances Frei, PhD, will give a crash course in trust: how to build it, maintain it and rebuild it -- something she worked on during a recent stint at Uber. As a professor of technology and operations management at Harvard Business School, Dr. Frie’s research investigates how leaders create the conditions for organizations and individuals to thrive by designing for excellence in strategy, operations, and culture. Her presentation will relate to the ITEACH value of teamwork.
