Advanced Figure Drawing
Tuesdays | 2:00 - 4:00 PM | 18+
|
Learn the basics of classical figure drawing from with live model. In this course, we will cover a multitude of topics such as, comparative measurement, rendering and how to create block-ins, which are the foundation of all representational drawings. There will be demos, Q&A sessions as well as in-depth personalized critiques of student work. We will start with short poses and work our way up to a single long pose session to create a fully developed figure drawing. Models will be nude and students must be at least 18 years of age. |

Hand Embroidery
Thursdays | 9:30 - 11:30 AM
|
Learn the basics of hand embroidery or add a few new stitches to your repertoire. Kelly Hartman will lead this eight week course. Students will created their own "Stitch Book" during this course. Everything you need for this class will be provided. |

“For many Springs, I returned to Penedo, an ancient village in Portugal, to work in my studio at Vivenda Santa Iria. There, I found angles of light, shadows and reflections in which I experienced a separate dimension of observation. Calçada-paved lanes, rough shadowed whitewashed walls, quiet people moving through light connect me to the sense of sanctuary that I seek in this work. The place and the spirit of the people who live there have clarified my vision of the human spirit that the modern world can obscure.”

Academy Award® Nominee Bill Nighy is nuanced and perfect in LIVING, the story of an ordinary man, reduced by years of oppressive office routine to a shadow existence, who at the eleventh hour makes a supreme effort to turn his dull life into something wonderful. A reimagining of Akira Kurosawa’s Ikiru, LIVING is directed by Oliver Hermanus (Moffie, The Endless River) from a script by Kazuo Ishiguro (author of the novels The Remains of The Day and Never Let Me Go). PG13, the film runs 142 minutes. CC available.
