Brad MacKenzie and Peter Zell: Painters

Exhibition will be on display at The Sanibel Community House

through April 17, 2026

Open M-F, 9 am – 3 pm

Sanibel artists, Brad MacKenzie and Peter Zell, are showing 53 paintings in an artistic collaboration at the Sanibel Community House during March and April. Their art exhibit, “Brad MacKenzie and Peter Zell: Painters” opened on Wednesday, March 11 and will continue until April 17.

About the Artists

Brad MacKenzie, is an oil painter and known on the island as “Brad the Beekeeper,” purveyor of the famed Sanibel Honey. He has lived on the island full-time since 2019 and is the manager for the Island Management Community Association. Brad says his paintings and drawings “capture a spark of something familiar, but not quite tangible, that resonates with our shared experiences…” He is a member of the Sanibel-Captiva Art League and has shown his artwork in Sanibel, Captiva and Maine.

Peter Zell is a retired attorney who grew up in Southern California. After moving to Sanibel in 2005, he pursued his artistic bent, joining the San-Cap Art League and painting en plein air with like-minded artists on Thursday mornings. He is a past president of the art league and has exhibited his award-winning oil paintings, acrylics and watercolors in California, the Butler Institute of American Art in Ohio, and throughout Southwest Florida. Peter describes his style as “impressionistic, with a touch of abstraction.”
