UA Partners with Facebook on Product Design Competition for Young Women
Earlier this month, the Urban Assembly and Facebook partnered with the UA Institute for Math and Science for Young Women to launch the UAI Design Derby competition. The Derby featured six teams of ninth-graders presenting their ideas for new apps and tech products to a panel of product engineers at Facebook NYC.

UA School Welcomes Neighborhood Champion Back to East Harlem
Students at the UA School for Global Commerce were thrilled to welcome neighborhood champion Dave East back to East Harlem this month. Dave East was just as excited to talk with UASGC students about the importance of having big dreams and overcoming challenges.

Principal David Noah of the UA Charter School for Computer Science discusses what an actual school of the future is in a recent op-ed in the Gotham Gazette. David talks of teaching skills that are in demand in the labor market, and committing to the redesign and modernization that schools need to truly serve students.
