From the President … Our Stealth Angel
As one of the city’s cultural gems, the VAC features a diverse tapestry of artistic expression. Our classes, exhibitions and events are sponsored in part by donations from individuals who value creativity and are mindful of the need to have a first-class facility in which to excel. Often, these benefactors wish to remain anonymous and allow their generosity to speak for itself. We call them Angels and I am delighted to reveal that we have a ‘Stealth Angel’ in our midst.
Recently, this individual quietly bestowed a gift of $100,000 to the center for the inglorious task of roof replacement. The center had been in critical need of this repair for several years following age deterioration coupled with damaging hurricanes. She remained anonymous for a full year, and we now proudly announce our generous benefactor, Constance Robison.
In addition to her ongoing financial support, our stealth angel has over several years served in multiple leadership capacities - as VAC Board Member and President, interim executive director, Endowment Trust Board President and ET Liaison to the VAC Board. Her consummate love of the arts continues to be reflected by her volunteerism and cheerful willingness to take on most any task with her trademark gusto.
As President of the VAC Board, it is my personal privilege to publicly acknowledge and thank Constance for her dedicated commitment to the center. It is my hope that her example will spark renewed interest and encourage additional support.
