Caswell County Chamber of Commerce
Small Business Recognition Awards

The Fourth Annual Small Business Recognition Awards will be presented at the Chamber of Commerce Annual Member Meeting on March 21. We invite all chamber members and employees to participate in the recognition of our most outstanding businesses. All votes for the following categories must be submitted by March 10.

Business of the Year
Running a successful business can be a difficult task. This award will be presented to a business with 10 or more employees that has made waves in the community.

Small Business of the Year
Not every business has a massive staff to keep things running smoothly. Many are the result of just a few hardworking, dedicated individuals. This award celebrates those smaller businesses with only 9 or less workers.

New Business of the Year
Starting a new business can be a very risky and difficult journey. It’s important to celebrate those who have recently taken their first steps along that road. That’s why this award recognizes the most outstanding companies that were started within the last five years.

Employer of the Year
Every employee wants a boss that cares. That is why we find it important to recognize the best leaders in the community. This award recognizes the employer that does the best job of keeping their staff motivated and happy.

Young Professional of the Year
We’re always on the lookout for fresh faces in our community. This award will go to an emerging entrepreneur, under the age of 40, who is shaking up the business space in our community.

Volunteer of the Year
We believe it is important to give back to those who have given to our community. That is why this award will be presented to a member of our community who has gone above and beyond in service to our county.

Member Spotlight -

Kyle Foster Music
Have you ever wanted to pick up an instrument? Learning the strings can be a real challenge, especially for beginners. Maybe you’ve even tried in the past, but just couldn’t get the hang of it. Regardless of your background in music, Kyle Foster is here for you. With experience working with students from age 7 to 70, Kyle is passionate about teaching, music, and teaching music.
Kyle has an infectious love for music, and believes that anyone can learn to play, regardless of their initial talent. “It’s all about consistency and dedication,” says Kyle, “anyone can learn to play an instrument if they’re willing to stick with it.” Even if you think you don’t have a single musical bone in your body, you can learn if you’re willing to commit to it. “Seeing my students grow is the best part,” remarks Kyle. Anybody can do it, it just takes practice.
Born and raised in Caswell County, Kyle gained an interest in music from his father who played the guitar. By the time he was in high school, Kyle had taught himself how to play the guitar with a bit of help from his friends. After he graduated, Kyle worked at Piedmont Community College for a while, where he developed a passion for teaching that has stuck with him to this day.
If you’re looking to learn how to play the guitar, bass, or ukulele, consider contacting Kyle through his facebook or send him an email at kylefosternc@outlook.com.
