News & Updates
March is Here!
Please find included, the latest updates and news from the Caswell County Chamber of Commerce as well as updates the membership has asked us to share. If you would like us to promote your member organization's information, announcements and updates, please send it to us here.
Welcome New Board Members
Each year, the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has several members roll off the board. The membership is able to nominate replacements and these replacement names are presented to the remaining board to be vetted and voted upon. This process began last November and is completed in the first quarter of the new year. Thus we are pleased to introduce you to our new board members joining the directors: Clint Hilbert, Jamie Henderson, Dave Seppelt, Bradley Taylor and Stuart Watlington. Over the next few months we will be introducing you to these new Chamber leaders. This month we begin with Clint Hilbert.

Clint Hilbert is a licensed private investigator in North Carolina and owner of Corporate Protection Technologies and Distinguished Pistol Outdoor Shooting Range.  His wife Tomiko Cheek, a native of North Carolina, and kids, Clint Jr. and Marina help operate the businesses, along with DP café, DP Pro Shop and Hiskey Cigars, all located on Bassi Ranch in Caswell County.  Clint was born in France and raised in Italy, and has traveled and lived in more than 25 countries.  Clint holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Troy State University, Alabama, and numerous other diplomas from the Army Logistics Management College, Defense Systems Management College, Defense Language Institute, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Defense Security Institute and the Army Management Engineering Training Center.  As a retired agent, he spent 40 years of combined leadership service in the military, law enforcement and corporate security.  Recently, Clint has consulted in business development and resiliency programs for numerous Fortune 500 Companies.  Clint and Tomiko chose to settle down here in Caswell County - - where they say, “It’s a little slice of paradise!”
The Third Annual Small Business Recognition Awards will be presented at the Chamber of Commerce Annual Member Meeting later this spring. We invite all chamber members in the community to participate in the recognition of our special businesses by choosing your nominations below. Here are the award categories.

Advocate Award
The success of a small business is often dependent on the ecosystem that it is surrounded by. This designation honors an organization that strengthens the community’s small business and community environment.
Previous winner of this award was North Village Pharmacy.

Community Contributor Award
This recognition pays tribute to an organization, that although small, makes a big difference in the lives of others. Nonprofits and for-profits alike can participate in this.
The 2021 winner in the category was Compassion Health Care.

Culture Creator Award
Creating a company culture is not just for large companies. This small business is intentional by investing in the development and well being of its employees. Bojangles was the winner last year for this category.

Emerging Entrepreneur Award
The kudos will go to a young professional (under age 40) who is shaking up the small business space in our community.
The winner in 2021 in this category was Bucks & Bass.

We invite Caswell Chamber member organizations to visit our web site at CaswellChamber.org or click here and submit nominations for 2022.

If you have not had the chance to see the new Veteran Memorial Park in Downtown Yanceyville, with spring coming, consider a walk through the area. Located at 158 Church Street in front of the Town of Yanceyville Municipal Building, the memorials honor Veterans and the fallen First Responders from our county.

Caswell County's Historical Churches

The Caswell Messenger is busily working on the next Caswell Then & Now magazine that will be focused on the historical churches in Caswell County.

If you have information on your historic church or the history of the houses of worship here, you are welcome to share it. Also share your church name and pastor information to be included in a community directory coming soon.
Please contact Debra at the messenger here or
