Idaho State University Welcomes Largest Incoming Class Since 2014

This fall, Idaho State University welcomed its largest incoming class since 2014, with nearly 26 percent more first-time undergraduate students choosing ISU than in Fall 2022. 

“These numbers mark a watershed at ISU. They represent the result of intentional strategies implemented over the last few years by the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff,” said President Kevin Satterlee. “But this report is much more than numbers. It’s about changing the lives of more students through education.”

Introducing MyISU

We are excited to launch our new portal this fall: MyISU.

This portal will replace BengalWeb, which will be retired at the end of the fall semester. MyISU has the same links and information as BengalWeb, but with an updated look and feel–as well as additional features, such as a customizable home page.

Professional Development Applications Open

Looking for some additional funds to further your professional development? Apply for the Staff Council Professional Development Award. The maximum award is $500 and can be used to pay registration for workshops, conferences, non-ISU classes or training, and travel expenses. 

Spring Applications are due on Oct 1, 2023 for activities falling within Jan 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024 time period. Apply at

Volunteers, Workshop Facilitators Needed for Hispanic Youth Leadership Symposium

On Wednesday, October 4, Idaho State will have the honor of welcoming over 700 Hispanic high school students to campus for the 5th Annual Hispanic Youth Leadership Symposium sponsored collaboratively by Idaho State University, College of Eastern Idaho, and numerous local business partners. 

The Hispanic Youth Leadership Symposium is the single largest gathering of Hispanic youth in the state of Idaho, where participants are invited to explore higher education opportunities and attend workshops on college and career readiness facilitated by ISU departments and regional employers. 

Register for an Upcoming CliftonStrengths Workshop

Human Resources invites all to attend the upcoming monthly Intro to Strengths (CliftonStrengths) Workshops. The workshops are open to all ISU faculty and staff. 

Sessions are offered in two formats: 

• In person format: the complete workshop is offered in 1, 4-hour session, hosted in Pocatello unless otherwise specified. 

• Remote format open to all campus locations (Zoom-based): the complete workshop is offered through 2, 90-minute sessions scheduled

School of Performing Arts to Present “Life x 3”

Idaho State University’s School of Performing Arts will present its first show of the season: “Life x 3” on Sept. 29, 30, and Oct. 5, 6, and 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre in the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.

“Life x 3,” is a slice-of-life affair, tackling marriage, parenthood and professional aspirations. Actually, as the title suggests, it’s more like three views of the same slice-of-life," said Show Director Vanessa Ballam. "The events covered in this play are seen three times over, each instant replay viewed from a slightly different angle. It's a marvelous challenge for the actors and a fascinating display for the audience.”
