Congrats, Michael Thomas, on earning this month's Impactful Teaching award.
Thomas is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences. He teaches BIOL 3358 Genetics to about 60 students each semester and leads the BIOL 1111 and 1112 Bacteriophage Discovery and Genomics Labs, course-based undergraduate research experiences for first-year students. In these labs, students work in teams to discover and characterize novel bacteriophages—viruses that kill bacteria, including antibiotic-resistant strains.

Bannock County Seeking Input on Advanced Nuclear Energy
Bannock County is partnering with Portneuf Valley Development to begin a preliminary effort to gauge resident interest in the potential role of advanced nuclear energy in Bannock County's future.
Following a study by the Idaho National Laboratory, Bannock County was noted as a potential location for future industry development, ranging from hosting a reactor to establishing manufacturing businesses within the supply chain. All county residents are invited to share their perspectives by completing a brief survey. Your feedback will help officials understand the community's stance before any further steps are considered.
The survey will be available through April 9.

The College of Science and Engineering Dean's Excellence Fund is intended to support students in their journey through ISU. The Dean's Office is particularly interested in providing financial assistance to students who might not be able to enroll in or complete the semester because of short-term financial hardships. Students seeking such support should be in good academic standing.
If you know of a student who is in need of short-term support, please have them complete this form.
