Volunteers Needed for Haunted Science Lab
Idaho State University’s Department of Physics and Kiwanis Club of Pocatello’s Haunted Science Laboratory will be back at the Bannock County Event Center in late October.
Department staff is looking for volunteers to help set up and prepare for the hundreds of local students attending the event. The Haunted Lab features more than 50 educational and interactive science exhibits designed to delight, fright, and educate kids of all ages. Idaho Museum of Natural History to Host Annual Fall Fossil Fest
All are invited to the Idaho Museum of Natural History for the annual Fall Fossil Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 12.
Tickets can be purchased online at isu.edu/imnh or day of at the door. Tickets are Family: $45 (2 Adults/2 Children), $7.50/Additional child, Adult: $15. Child (6-17): $10 with accompanying adult.

STEM Career Fair Planned for October 16
The Career Center will host its STEM Career Fair on Wednesday, October 16, in the Pond Student Union Building Ballroom.
Students are welcome to stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to meet and network with STEM employers from around the region.

Flu Shot Clinics Scheduled for Oct. 21 and 30
CoSE will host a pair of flu shot clinics in October. The first will be held Monday, October 21, from 9 a.m. to noon, in Gale Life Sciences room 229. Meanwhile, the second is planned for Wednesday, October 30, from noon to 3 p.m., in Physical Science Complex room 121.
Participants must sign up to receive their shot at least two hours prior to the start of the clinic.

The College of Science and Engineering Dean's Excellence Fund is intended to support students in their journey through ISU. The Dean's Office is particularly interested in providing financial assistance to students who might not be able to enroll in or complete the semester because of short-term financial hardships. Students seeking such support should be in good academic standing.
If you know of a student who is in need of short-term support, please have them complete this form.

Indigenous Peoples Day Events Begin Oct. 14
Native American Student Services, in collaboration with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, is pleased to present a full-day celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Oct. 14. This year’s theme, “We are still here: Tradition and Transformation,” will feature various events, including a sunrise ceremony, a keynote address by Johanna Jones, workshops, cultural performances, and a student panel.

Construction Notice: Bartz Way Paving
Beginning October 14, sections of Bartz Way will be closed for paving. Please observe all traffic control/detour signage and construction barriers. See the map for phasing and schedule. Paving is scheduled to be complete by mid-November. While we do not anticipate other areas being impacted, there is always a possibility of a broader impact. Please plan accordingly.

ISU Mountain West Marching Band Invitational Brings 18 High School Bands from Idaho and Utah
The annual ISU Mountain West Marching Band Invitational will be held at the ICCU Dome on Saturday, October 19. Eighteen high school bands from Idaho and Utah will perform for judges and an enthusiastic audience.
