The College of Science and Engineering Dean's Excellence Fund is intended to support students in their journey through ISU. The Dean's Office is particularly interested in providing financial assistance to students who might not be able to enroll in or complete the semester because of short-term financial hardships. Students seeking such support should be in good academic standing.
If you know of a student who is in need of short-term support, please have them complete this form.

Last week, Idaho State University and other state agencies were notified that the 3% one-time holdbacks for FY2026 are now permanent, affecting FY2027 and beyond. This ongoing budget cut, coupled with a maintenance-only budget, creates more headwinds for us in designing a balanced budget plan for FY2027.
The Budget Advisory Group is actively working on revenue and expense forecasts and scenarios and we will be engaging the University community in dialogue and discussion over the next several weeks and months as we formulate a plan for FY2027 and beyond. Please be on the lookout for upcoming communications and opportunities for engagement.
| | H-1B Presidential Proclamation Status Update | |
Last week, the White House issued a U.S. Presidential Proclamation imposing significant changes for new H-1B petitions and adding a requirement for an employer-based fee of $100,000. Idaho State University is monitoring this situation very closely as it is a vitally important topic for higher education and our institution.
The Human Resources Department, the Office of General Counsel, and the International Programs Office have worked together to begin to navigate this issue and have sent communications to employees directly affected by this proclamation. This team will continue to send updates as more information becomes available.
