Master’s in Geology with Geology Management Concentration Now Available

The worlds of minerals, magma, and management are converging in a new degree offered by Idaho State University.

Recently, ISU added a master’s in geology with a concentration in geology management. Differing from the already offered research concentration, students will be required to take graduate-level geology classes and courses focused on being effective managers.

Thank you, Becky Johnson, Brenna Gundersen, and Rachel Cutler, for stopping by and chatting with this year’s Bengal Bridge students!

Becky is the Technical Assistance Manager for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game’s Southeast Region. Meanwhile, Brenna earned her bachelor’s in civil engineering from ISU this spring and is currently working towards her master’s while working as an Inspector and Project Manager for Horrocks Engineering. Rachel is also an ISU alum and serves as the Lab Manager at the Idaho State Police Forensic Services Laboratory.

They each discussed why they were interested in their respective fields, shared good habits to cultivate while attending college, described their careers, and more.

Pocatello High School Teacher Receives Albion Center Scholarship to Pursue Graduate Degree

In a lecture hall at Idaho State University, a history professor did more than expect her students to memorize dates and facts. She brought past events to life, creating a vibrant living narrative where her students could dive into a deeper understanding of history. For Cassie Ashdown, this moment sparked a newfound desire to teach her own students in that same way: igniting a curiosity in them to learn more and help them see why history still matters today.
