Physics Dept.’s Free Water Rocket Festival June 28 and 29


Water-powered rockets will be taking flight in Pocatello this weekend. 


Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to noon, Idaho State University’s Department of Physics will host their Water Rocket Festival at Tydeman Park, N. 8th Avenue and E. Young Street. Each day, the first 100 youth, ages 16-years-old and younger will receive the materials needed to build a water rocket. From there, ISU students will explain the physics of a good rocket and help the young water rocket scientists create and launch their projectiles.

Henderson Scholarship Endowment Reaches Milestone in Support of Students in Engineering and English


Idaho State University is proud to announce that the John D. and Marilyn B. Henderson Scholarship has reached full endowment, now providing annual awards to students in both the Department of English and the College of Science and Engineering.

It was a pleasure to host Idaho National Laboratory’s Vivek Agarwal, senior manager and distinguished staff scientist, and Khaldoon AlDawood, postdoctoral research associate, on campus! 


Invited by Mustafa Mashal, professor of civil engineering, they discussed potential opportunities for collaboration, toured the Disaster Response Complex and Structural LAB with Jared Cantrell, met with nuclear engineer faculty Chad Pope and Daniel LaBrier, and talked with students.

Dean's Excellence Fund Accepting Requests from Students


The College of Science and Engineering Dean's Excellence Fund is intended to support students in their journey through ISU. The Dean's Office is particularly interested in providing financial assistance to students who might not be able to enroll in or complete the semester because of short-term financial hardships. Students seeking such support should be in good academic standing.

Celebrating Idaho State’s 125th Anniversary


Idaho State University will achieve an impressive milestone in 2026 - 125 years as an institution of higher learning. In the coming months, information will be shared about how all members of our University communities can join in celebrating this significant historical year. 


The 125th Anniversary planning committee is developing plans to commemorate ISU and is seeking information related to ISU’s long and successful history.

Unveiling Date for Papenberg Hall of Champions Set for September 20


The Idaho State University Athletics Department is proud to announce the official unveiling of the Papenberg Hall of Champions, a new permanent installation designed to celebrate the legacy and achievements of Bengal Athletics.


The Papenberg Hall of Champions — appropriately named in honor of the project’s lead benefactors, the late Don and Sylvia Papenberg — is located in the ICCU Bengal Alumni Center. The focal point of the facility, the floor-to-ceiling display is situated in the front corridor just outside of the reception hall and honors the individuals and teams who have defined ISU’s rich sports history.

L.S. Skaggs College of Pharmacy Awarded Funding to Support Future Patient-Centered Research on Advanced Pharmacy Services


The L.S. Skaggs College of Pharmacy is pleased to announce approval for a funding award through the Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award Program, an initiative of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute. The funds will support building capacity for patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research on advanced pharmacy services.
