Thank you to the more than 200 participants who joined us in person and online for the Hands-on Training in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning program!
Led by Tadesse G. Wakjira, an adjunct faculty member in the civil and environmental engineering department, and Mostafa Fouda, associate professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the free seven-week training provided participants with practical, hands-on experience. Attendees gained specialized skills to tackle real-world challenges in these cutting-edge fields.
Looking ahead, they plan to expand the program with additional courses.

College of Science and Engineering Dean Search Update from President Wagner
Dear College of Science and Engineering,
I wanted to provide you with an update on the search for the next COSE Dean. We are moving forward with the process and are making progress. While we had hoped to expedite the timeline, we are still working through candidate reviews and communications. I am absolutely committed to finding the right individual to lead the college.
I appreciate the feedback I received from the college and the search committee and your participation in interviews and open forums - I have thoroughly reviewed all materials. This is a critical position for the university and I am very much looking forward to the future of COSE. I will provide an update to everyone on the status of the search in January after the holiday break.
My best wishes to you for the holidays,
Robert

ISU Plans to Sell Magnuson Alumni House
Since 1977, this beautiful home has served as a hub for Bengal alumni, fostering countless memories and connections. With the Alumni Office now located in the state-of-the-art ICCU Bengal Alumni Center, ISU is looking ahead to new opportunities for this cherished property. Restoring the home to usable condition, particularly as an office building, would require extensive investment. Repair needs include a new roof, plumbing, electrical, and critical repairs to the foundation. As a public, administrative building, the university would need to make additional ADA repairs and fire suppression improvements.
