CoSE Flu Shot Clinic Slated for Oct. 31
College of Pharmacy students will administer flu shots to CoSE faculty and staff on Tuesday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Physical Science Complex Room 121.
Faculty and staff interested in receiving their flu shot must complete a registration form at least three hours before the clinic to receive their shot.
Flu shots are also available at the University Health Center. No appointment is necessary. Call (208) 282-2330 for more information.

Office for Research Seeks Federal Funding Priority Input
Each year, Idaho State University prepares a list of research and program interests & priorities for Idaho’s federal Congressional delegation. The delegation uses the list to assist ISU in achieving its mission, “engage students through learning and research opportunities that improve the intellectual vigor, cultural vitality, and health of our communities.”
ISU faculty and staff are invited to suggest research and/or program interests & priorities for consideration. A research and program interests & priority input form requests a 3 - 5 sentence concept summary accompanied by information about current/past funding, current communication with federal funding agencies, etc. This form requires 10-15 minutes to complete.
Responses are due by November 17.

Internal Small Grant Program Seeking Submissions
The Internal Small Grant Program (ISGP) aims to expand the capacity for research and creative activity at ISU. The Office for Research (OR) makes funding available for this program and relies on the ISU Research Council (RC) to make recommendations to the Vice President for Research in as fair and as transparent a way as possible and supports all areas, types, and disciplines of research and creative activity by all full-time ISU faculty. Funding for ISGP comes from Facilities and Administrative (F&A) Costs resulting from external grant and contract funding.
Proposals are due November 1.

ISU Breaks Retention Records
Idaho State University broke retention records and increased enrollment this fall, with nearly 26 percent more first-time undergraduate students choosing ISU than in Fall 2022.
On Oct. 15, the state-designated official Census Day, new first-time undergraduate (traditionally called “freshmen”) enrollment was 1,759, up 25.6 percent compared to last fall, and the largest number of new first-time undergraduates since Fall 2014. That influx also led to total degree-seeking undergraduate student enrollment being up 6.4 percent.

Graduate School’s 4th Annual Book Drive Wraps Oct. 31
The 4th Annual Graduate School Book Drive is almost halfway to its goal of 1,000 books.
So far, the Graduate School has collected 436 books from generous donors. Please help us meet our goal by shopping through our wishlist, or mail/drop it off to our office in the Graduate School, Museum Building directly.
As an added bonus for dropping off your book donation directly at our office (Museum Building Suite 401), we’ll give you ISU Graduate School swag.
The book drive will run through October 31 to allow deliveries to local schools in early November.

If you plan to attend Winter Commencement on Dec. 16 as a faculty member, and need rental regalia, the deadline to order is Wednesday, Nov. 1. The university will cover the cost of all faculty rentals placed by this date.

Mockingbirds and the Law: Presentation by Justice Gregory W. Moeller
Idaho Supreme Court Justice Gregory W. Moeller will present "Mockingbirds and the Law: My Journey for Justice" Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. in the Idaho State University Eames Complex Multi-Purpose Room.
Justice Moeller graduated magna cum laude from B.Y.U. and earned his juris doctor degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School. In his presentation, Moeller will delve into his personal journey, intertwining it with themes of justice and the law.
The event is free and open to the public.

Idaho Central Credit Union Establishes Endowment to Support Student Participation in Real-World Business Simulation Competition
Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU) continues their support of the Idaho State University College of Business with the establishment of the ICCU International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition (ICBSC) Endowment. While ICCU has historically supported the College’s ICBSC team both financially and with coaching, this endowment ensures students will be able to continue participating in the competition in perpetuity.
The ICBSC is a rigorous competition challenging top-level students from around the world to complete 12 quarters (three years) of simulated business decisions expedited over the course of a semester.
