Kudos to Prem Shah for taking home a first-place poster award at TECHCON 2024!
Prem is double-majoring in physics and computer science at ISU and presented his research on developing novel nanomaterials with tunable light absorption properties. Called copper chalcogenides, these materials have the potential to be used in supercapacitors, solar cells, and medical devices. Prem conducted his research at the University of Dayton through the U.S. National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates program over the summer.
Held in Austin, Texas, TECHCON 2024 brought
together students from across the U.S. and featured "over 200 posters and presentations."
