Congrats to ISU alum Mahesh Acharya!


His poster, "Hydropower Technology Catalog (HTC): Connecting Innovators with End Users," took home the People's Choice Award at Idaho National Laboratory’s Early Career Researchers Association and Postdoctoral Association poster session.


He is currently serving as a postdoctoral research associate in the Energy and Environment Science & Technology Directorate at INL and is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at ISU.

The physics department’s Water Rocket Festival was a success!


Thank you to all the kids for stopping by and building a rocket. The furthest-travelling rocket flew more than 400 feet!

Kudos to biology student Grace Cain on being named the Career Center's CPI of the Month for July!


Grace is currently interning in the Advanced Human Anatomy and Physiology Lab, where she is responsible for organizing a weekly teaching plan for the lab and demonstrating her exceptional teaching skills.


"Grace was committed to ensuring her students received the highest level of guidance and support necessary for their success," said Susan Marion, associate lecturer in the biological sciences department and Grace's supervisor. "She facilitated multiple optional open labs and consistently addressed students' inquiries outside of scheduled class hours by emailing them information to enhance their understanding of anatomy and physiology."

INL University Days Scheduled for Aug. 13-15 in Idaho Falls


Join Idaho National Laboratory for University Days August 13 through 15 at the INL Meeting Center in Idaho Falls.


At the event, national labs, federal sponsors, and university partners will connect to showcase collaborative research programs, mission-centric capabilities, and share info on internships and research funding opportunities. 

Dean's Excellence Fund Accepting Requests from Students


The College of Science and Engineering Dean's Excellence Fund is intended to support students in their journey through ISU. The Dean's Office is particularly interested in providing financial assistance to students who might not be able to enroll in or complete the semester because of short-term financial hardships. Students seeking such support should be in good academic standing.


If you know of a student who is in need of short-term support, please have them complete this form.

Invitation to Celebrate Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Treaty Days


July 3 marks the enduring legacy of the Shoshone-Bannock peoples sovereignty and the rights that were established through the Treaty of 1868.


It is a day that highlights the resilience, culture, and ongoing contributions of the Shoshone-Bannock peoples to the community, state, and nation.

Nonprofit Beneficiaries Announced for 2025 Festival of Trees

Festival of Trees is proud to announce the nonprofit groups who will receive funding from the Festival of Trees event this year, happening November 19-22 at the Stephens Performing Arts Center. Interested groups were asked to submit proposals, including details about the missions of their organizations and how Festival funds would be used.
