Nuclear Engineering Alum Tanner Mauseth’s journey from winning the Science Olympiad to the football field in Moscow, earning two degrees at ISU, and now serving as one of the younger researchers in the Idaho National Laboratory’s Irradiated Materials Characterization Laboratory was recently featured in a story by INL.

After 10 years of service to Idaho State University, Mustafa Mashal will conclude his appointment as associate vice president for research, innovation partnerships, and professor of civil engineering this summer after accepting the position of vice president for research and economic development and professor at East Texas A&M University.

Update on the Network Status of Portneuf Medical Center

Idaho State University is committed to providing employees with timely updates regarding the ongoing discussions between Portneuf Medical Center and Regence BlueShield of Idaho. In coordination with the Idaho Office of Group Insurance (OGI), we are sharing the most current information available about Portneuf Medical Center's network status and what it may mean for members covered under the state health plan.

Canva Phase Out Reminder

The University has transitioned from using Canva to Adobe Express, which can be accessed for free by all faculty, staff and students. Access to Canva will end on September 15.

Members who haven't used their Canva account in the last 6 to 12 months will be removed from Canva starting in August. Individuals who have used their Canva account will be sent an email to remind them to back up their materials.

Faculty Drop-in Hours with Dean Widmann

Dean Widmann invites faculty to a drop-in hour on the third Thursday of each month, from 1 to 2 p.m., in Room 121 of the Physical Science Complex. The next will be held on Thursday, August 20.

This optional opportunity gives faculty a chance to chat with the Dean about projects, ask questions, share successes, and provide input regarding the future of the College.

Dean's Excellence Fund Accepting Requests from Students

The College of Science and Engineering Dean's Excellence Fund is intended to support students in their journey through ISU. The Dean's Office is particularly interested in providing financial assistance to students who might not be able to enroll in or complete the semester because of short-term financial hardships. Students seeking such support should be in good academic standing.

If you know of a student who is in need of short-term support, please have them complete this form.
