Counseling Services (Formerly Counseling and Testing Services) Adopts New Name

As part of a restructuring plan, the counseling center in Counseling and Testing Services has a new name—Counseling and Mental Health Center —and a new URL: isu.edu/cmhc. Both counseling and testnig services are currently still located in Gravely Hall, but Testing has moved under the management of Academic Affairs. ISU Choral Invitational Festival to Showcase High School Singers from Idaho Schools

The voices of 350 talented high school singers from across Idaho will preform at the 2023 ISU Choral Invitational Festival on Friday, Oct. 27, and Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Stephens Performing Arts Center.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Education Conference Set Nov. 3

The goal of this year’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Education Conference, which is being co-sponsored by the College of Education and ISU’s Diversity Resource Center, is to provide an opportunity for teachers at all levels to come together and share strategies to advance DEI efforts in K-12 schools and at the university level. In particular, this conference is an opportunity to discuss barriers to creating equity and empowering teachers to meet the needs of diverse students.

Gem State Air Quality Initiative - Federal Funding for Air Quality

Please join the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality and the University of Idaho McClure Center for the Gem State Air Quality Initiative Kickoff Meeting on Oct. 19, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Idaho received federal funding to develop and implement a statewide plan for improving air quality. The goal of the federal funding is to help support job creation, lower energy costs for families, and deliver cleaner air in places where people live, work, play, and go to school, particularly in rural communities. By participating, Idaho is eligible for $4.6 billion in implementation funding to support existing and new community, government, industry, and non-governmental organization (NGO) projects.

"ChatGPT/AI: Friend or Foe?" Presentation by Danny Leeming

The College of Education cordially invites you to join us for a presentation by Danny Leeming, a K-12 and university educator from British Columbia, who will discuss current uses of ChatGPT and other AI tools in the classroom.

Danny will share details from personal experiences with AI, help to debunk myths surrounding AI, and provide the audience with strategies for using ChatGPT effectively in classrooms. Additionally, this presentation will discuss the shift in pedagogy and different approaches to working with AI tools as they become more abundant and powerful.
