Saturday, February 29 from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Closing Exhibit: People, Places and Things by Gaylordsville artist Susan Grisell. Join us for a closing reception to meet the artist at the newly carpeted Library. The exhibit runs from January 15 to February 29.

*This is a 5-week program held each Saturday from February 1 until 29. Attendance at each session is very important because each new meeting will build on the previous information covered. At the end of the fifth session you should be able to play Bridge at the beginner level. The handout "BRIDGE 1.0" will be used for the class. If you have a copy read it and bring it to class. If you are a new student contact Robert Norton 860.927.4980 for your copy.

Saturday, February 1 at 10:30 a.m. Story Hour: Take your Child to the Library Day! Participate in a nationwide celebration of reading and libraries by coming to Kent Memorial Library today with your child! We will have a story hour, snacks, a fun activity and stickers! All ages.

Wednesday, February 5 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Half Day Special! Games, crafts, and fun! Please send your child with a bagged lunch or snack (no peanut products allowed). Drop off for kids in K-5 only available with pre-registration. Please register. The Junior Room will be closed for the duration of this program. **We cannot regulate what food is brought into the library. If your child has a specific food allergy please contact the Junior Room staff. Thank you!**

Friday, February 21 at 4:00 p.m. TAB Book Club! The Jumbies Series by Tracey Baptiste, Grades 5 and up. Please register. Our goal is to have read all three books by this meeting- the discussion will be around the whole series with a focus on the third book, The Jumbie God's Revenge.    

Saturday February 22 at 10:30 a.m. Teddy Bear Story Hour! We'll be reading books about teddy bears and making an indoor teddy bear picnic! Bring your favorite bear to cozy up to while we a spread out a blanket to chow down picnic style! Ages 3 to 8. 
 
Friday, February 28 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. STEAM TEAM! Doughnuts! We explore how to make doughnuts in three different ways - with science, engineering and art. Grade 2 and up. Please register in advance. Not a drop off.

UPCOMING EVENTS FOR CHILDREN 
Starting March 1, we are having a Peep Diorama contest! Make your book or movie-themed diorama at home, include at least one peep, and then bring it to be displayed in the Library. Dioramas are due on April 8 before 5:30pm. Public voting is April 9 through April 20th. The winners will be announced April 22 and will receive a prize! (There are two categories: ages 14 and under and ages 15 and up).

This is the first installment of a teen movie night series during which we will track the Infinity Stones across the Marvel Universe! Starting this March, each month we'll show another relevant movie in chronological order so you can finally get this complicated storyline straight. Book Talk: Dancing Man: A Broadway Choreographer's Journey
Author Tom Santopietro will interview Kent resident, noted choreographer Bob Avian as they discuss their new book Dancing Man: A Broadway Choreographer's Journey. Bob began his career as a dancer and was in more than a dozen Broadway shows including West Side Story and Funny Girl. This will be their  first event to celebrate the newly published book.
