Getting Talent Back to Work with Fair Chance Employment
by Yolanda Johnson, KY Department of Corrections / Division of Reentry Services
Did you know that an estimated 70 million people in the United States—nearly one in three adults—have a prior arrest or conviction record? The Kentucky Department of Corrections and the West Kentucky Reentry Council can be a partner in your efforts.

Earn SHRM's Getting Talent Back to Work Certificate
The SHRM Foundation launched the GTBTW initiative in 2019, which improves rehabilitation and re-entry opportunities for thousands of incarcerated men and women. National SHRM has called on employers to change their recruiting practices to include applicants with criminal backgrounds. SHRM is offering a 10-hour e-learning program that provides the education and resources needed to inform HR practices in the attracting, hiring, and retaining of these individuals and equipping HR professionals with the skills they need to work with this unique group of job seekers.

This week, he featured their HR Team. When I read it, I knew our SHRM family would appreciate the article, as each of you are tackling the intangible. With Lance's permission, I've provided a link to the post. Like all bloggers, he's crossed his fingers hoping that you'll click the link. He'll totally dig it if you do.
