It looks like winter is coming to an end and spring is just around the corner. The forecast for near 50 degree temperatures on the weekend and a winter blast in a few days seems to be the normal for this year.
As many of you are patiently waiting for warmer weather, the Oconto Falls Area Chamber of Commerce has been planning some very exciting events for this summer. So mark your calendar and spread the word about what will be happening in Oconto Falls in 2016!
 
Run For The Trails - Saturday June 4, 2016. This event is back! Thank goodness the road construction is complete. The 10k Run, 5k Run/Walk and ½ mile Kids Fun Run will start and end on the new track at the school sports complex. This event will coincide with the Health and Safety Fair which is held at the ambulance garage behind the hospital. There will be more details soon.
 
2016 Sunset Concert Series, Music By The River. The Oconto Falls Area Chamber of Commerce will host three free concerts at the East Side Beach this summer. The music will play from 6-9 pm. Bring your lawn chairs and relax while you listen to live music by the river. We will be serving food and refreshments. Our featured bands and dates are:
 
Friday June 24 - The Cougars band
Friday July 22 - Big Mouth
Friday August 26 - Johnny Wad Band dba Bazooka Joe

Due to popular request, the HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting a Linen Sale again this year.
In March of 2015 the Auxiliary hosted its first ever Linen Sale. The sale is open to the public and shoppers are welcome anytime from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8.

Free Presentation on Heart Valve Disease
Community seniors are invited to a free presentation on heart valve disease hosted by HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital and Prevea Health on March 10.
Heart valve disease is any disease affecting one or more of the four valves of the heart.

Oconto Falls High School was well-represented as five singers were selected to perform in the All-State Honors Choir organized by the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association.

The students were recommended by their high school choral director and selected for this honor based on their outstanding musicianship and character.
