Your News from Lancaster City Schools...

Portrait of a Graduate

Lancaster City Schools has been The Place to be For Learning, Caring, and Succeeding for the past several years. As part of our mission and vision for the district, we have since developed our “Portrait of a Graduate.” This program was integrated into our district to build bridges to life beyond school. Our students will be prepared to succeed in life after high school while showing a high level of social-emotional skills, and effective and professional communication. With the strong community that unites Lancaster City Schools, we can work together to better prepare our students for success beyond school.

Please watch upcoming newsletters for our Portrait Profile – shining a light on the ways Portrait of a Graduate is working within our school and in our community!

LHS Construction Update

Early site work continues at the new Lancaster High School location! The site is being prepared for the building pad which should be ready by mid-October. Progress is being made “up the hill” towards the west side of the property. Construction fencing has been installed around the perimeter of the site.

Significant progress has been made on the E. Fair baseball/softball fields:

  • The bleachers are in place.
  • The majority of the concrete work is almost complete.
  • The batting cage netting has been installed along with the poles and netting along the outfield fences.
  • Drainage and site work is being completed on the baseball field to prepare for the installation of the infield turf.
  • Sod will be installed in the outfield later this fall.
  • Dugouts on both fields are almost complete and safety fences are installed.
