The Virtual Festival
The West Town Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Chicago Brewing District and On Tour Brewing to bring back Dancing in the Streets jam band and brew festival for a third season – virtually! From August 5-12, Virtual Dancing in the Streets will feature week-long special promotions from Chicago Brewing District’s brewers, West Town’s small businesses, and one night of live streamed music. There is a suggested donation of $10 to tune in, if you're able.

The Music
Inspired by its namesake Grateful Dead song, the event will feature jam bands programmed by On Tour Brewing to get patrons dancing in their homes on Friday, August 7 starting at 6 p.m.

Thursday, August 20 from 5-6 p.m.

Join Intuit for Art After Work, a free series of drop-in art making. On Thursday, August 20, a teaching artist will lead a workshop inspired by an artist in Intuit’s exhibitions, permanent collection or the outsider art genre. This workshop is for everyone, including beginners and people who say they “are not artists.” Free Zoom Videoconference (RSVP will be available on Eventbrite).

One Night Stand

Virtual Opening Night Event: August 8 at 6 p.m.

A duo show featuring Lady Lucx and Zeye One. The brujas have been brewing and they're back with that 2020 vision. Inspired by nature, phases of the moon, tarot and good old fashioned feminist energy, Lady Lucx and Zeye One have been working independently and collaborating together for years. An entirely new body of work will be revealed on opening night virtually and can then be enjoyed in person through September 12. Expect unearthly installation work, mixed media, sculptures, shrines, paintings, and more! As always, there will be a few surprises and two brand new in store murals.

Virtual Workshop: Working With Nature
Wednesday, August 26 from 2-4 p.m.

This workshop with featured artist Gunjan Kumar will focus on playing with elements, doodling with nature, and more. For each of these activities, relevant examples from history and artworks that use these techniques will be shared. Participants will then be given time for self-exploration.
