The Hybrid Festival
The West Town Chamber of Commerce invites patrons to enjoy the 2020 West Town Art Walk taking place NOW through October 3. Returning this year as a hybrid event, guests can celebrate art in all forms through a mix of socially distanced, in-person experiences, as well as new virtual elements. The event will feature ten days of art openings and happenings, a self guided public art walking tour, local business specials; plus all new virtual exhibitions, gallery tours, and artist talks. Elijah Burgher: Until the beasts and all the mountain are wild with divinity

For his fourth solo show with Western Exhibitions, Until the beasts and all the mountain are wild with divinity, Elijah Burgher presents a series of photographs that are hand-manipulated with ink, bleach and other materials in Gallery 1. Gallery 2 will feature a small group of recent portrait drawings alongside a multi-panel print installation, Nude Ghosts. The show will begin on September 11 and will run through October 31, 2020.

Jake Troyli investigates the construction of otherness and the commodification of the black/brown body, confronting and exploring labor capitalism and sweat equity as a demonstration of value, challenging the erroneous notion that it is only through arduous performances of labor that value and importance are earned.

TEAM Mentor Volunteer Opportunities
Ongoing through academic school year

TEAM is a one- on- one mentoring program. Mentors are matched with a student for the academic school year. Mentors meet with students for an hour and a half (6-7:30 p.m.) per week (Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday). Mentors assist the mentee with academics, college preparation, and life skills. Mentors are required to participate in orientation sessions which take place at the beginning of the school year, as well as workshops and trainings during mentoring sessions.
