At the JFAR Office
This Sunday voting members of JFAR's board will meet for the annual board retreat. They will be discussing the board's strengths and how to improve over the next year.
JFAR's Scholarship program for continuing Jewish education has been able to aid Jewish families throughout Arkansas. Funds are on a first come first serve basis for need-based aid.
Families are encouraged to apply as soon as possible for the remaining funds. JFAR partners with Congregation B'nai Israel for scholarships to their religious school.
Violins of Hope is coming to the Jewish Federation of Fort Wayne in Indiana. These instruments belonged to those who perished in the Holocaust or were on the run during World War II. The violins were refurbished and given a new life. The original owners may have perished, but their voices live on.
The exhibition will have multiple events over two weeks in November.
After being abandoned and occupied by squatters for approximately 20 years, the House of Stars Synagogue is being reclaimed. The building will need to go through an extensive restoration process before it re-opens.
