What's Happening with Nirvana Cannabis Dispensary on Rand?

Expected to Open by July 1, 2024

In November 2021, the Village Board of Trustees approved Lake Zurich’s first adult use cannabis dispensary at 676 South Rand Road, replacing the TGI Friday’s restaurant that shuttered in March 2020.

This property is 1.6-acres in the B-3 Regional Shopping Business District, which is intended for major retail centers and specialty shops attractive to the wider suburban community around Lake Zurich.

Lake Zurich cannabis dispensaries are required by local zoning regulations to be located a specific distance away from any school, library, day care facility, or public park.

After several construction delays and regulatory hurdles with licensing requirements, progress on opening this dispensary is now well underway.

The Village issued building permits to Nirvana Dispensary (formerly called Bloc) in January 2024 and dumpsters now appear in front of the building.

Nirvana Dispensary is expected to be open and begin operations by July 1, 2024.
