Tapping into Abundant Life

MOVING TO TWO SERVICES

Sunday, October 20
ADULT EDUCATION
Sunday, October 6, 8:30 am
Fellowship Hall
Pastor Dennis will lead the class in a study on Paul's letters to Timothy. In his first letter, written sometime between 64 and 66 AD, Paul encouraged Timothy in his leadership role at the church of Ephesus. That letter instructed Timothy on church doctrine, church leadership, and church administration. Basically, it was an instruction manual on how to run a Christian congregation. Paul wrote a second letter to Timothy shortly before his death in about 67 AD. Imprisoned in Rome, Paul recognized that his life was nearing its end, so he drafted his "last words" to Timothy. He used this last letter to encourage Timothy - and all believers - to persevere in their faith and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Refreshments served.

FALL BREAK FOR KIDS
Monday-Friday, Oct. 7-11
8:00 - 4:00 pm
Shepherd will once again have Fall Break Adventures. Our theme is Tapping into Abundant Life with Jesus . We will have fun singing songs, hearing Bible stories, doing crafts, playing games, and just plain having fun! Snacks and hot lunch will be provided at no cost. So come, invite your friends, and plan on having a great time.

Can you assist? We are looking for volunteers to help for a couple of hours at a time, or more. We need assistance to help with crafts, watching kids play, supervise games and just enjoy spending time with the kids and get to know them. Please, if you can help at any time on any day, email Julia@sothaz.com.
SPIRITUAL GIFTS PROFILE
Do you know yours?
Do you know if you are working in a ministry that is a good fit for you? Do you know what your spiritual gifts are? They point you in the direction of the ministry area(s) in which you should be involved. As you consider your passions, personality, and experience in combination with your gifts, you will know which tasks to zero in on within those areas and the people to whom you should minister. If you have not completed the profile and identified your gifts, or, if you would like to talk about ministry areas you may have an interest in email Julia@sothaz.com.
OVER SEEDING THE GRASS
We need wheel barrows, shovels, rakes and people to use them when we over seed the lawn on Tuesday, October 15 starting at 7:30 am. It should take about three hours if we have enough help. You are welcome to come, but it would be helpful to let Lloyd Tarr know so we have some idea of how much help we will have and how many donuts to buy.
