Vision Forward 2.0 Learning Lab Series

“What I Wish I Would Have Said” PART 3

Monday, March 9@ 5PM central / 6PM Eastern - ZOOM

**Vision Forward 2.0** is a coordinated set of programs designed to help volunteers, community members, and pro‑democracy conversational activists communicate with clarity, calm, and persuasion—especially in moments clouded by confusion, misinformation, or division.

These programs are **practical, skills‑based**, and rooted in **real conversations** happening in our communities right now.

## Learning Labs Series: What We Do

Our Learning Labs Series offers **hands‑on workshops** where volunteers, community leaders, and conversational activists come together to **practice productive, empathetic dialogues** with people holding different views.

These are safe, supportive spaces to experiment with approaches that reduce polarization and strengthen understanding across differences.

This four‑week workshop will help you **argue less and influence more**. Through interactive exercises and real‑world examples, you’ll practice how to:

- Avoid argument traps

- Recover from “stuck” dialogs

- Steer conversations to “move the needle” in the right direction

- Preserve relationships while communicating values effectively

You’ll begin with non‑political topics and gradually apply your new skills to more challenging discussions—at home, at work, and in civic conversations. As these tools become second nature, your confidence and influence will grow, allowing your **pro‑democracy voice** to be both effective and authentic.

Meet Candidate 4 Illinois Comptroller, Holly Kim,

"Stop the Save America Act"

Monday, March 9th @7:30 PM central / 8:30 PM Eastern - ZOOM

_Join us for our March *Stand With Women* Zoom — a dynamic evening featuring **Lake County Treasurer and candidate for Illinois Comptroller, Holly Kim!**_

Holly is currently serving her second term as Treasurer, managing over **$3.2 billion in public funds**. Endorsed by current Comptroller **Susana Mendoza**, she brings real hands-on experience in fiscal leadership, transparency, and public accountability. As Holly proudly says, she’s already doing the job — bringing both innovation and heart to government finance.

## 🔍 Also on the Agenda: The “Save America Act”

We’ll unpack the troubling **Save America Act**, recently passed in the U.S. House and now headed to the Senate. This GOP-sponsored bill would require Americans to prove citizenship **in person** with limited documentation just to register to vote — and would force states to share their voter rolls with the Department of Homeland Security.

_This bill threatens to disenfranchise millions, especially **women who’ve changed their names**, **transgender individuals**, **people with disabilities**, **minorities**, and **rural or unhoused voters**.

*See you on March 9th!** *Kathy and Michelle*

Sharing Our Stories (SOS) group is hosting its 10th meeting

SHARING OUR STORIES (SOS) Amplifying Voices

of those affected by the harmful policies of the Trump regime

Wednesday, March 11th @ 7PM CT / 8PM ET Zoom

_Our very own Sharing Our Stories (SOS) group is hosting its 10th meeting, dedicated to amplifying the voices of those affected by the harmful policies of the Trump regime_

In this meeting we will seek out committed volunteers to move this project forward. We will have a special guest who is sharing her personal story and we will introduce a new development with podcasts.

Whether you have a story to share or possess skills in writing, video content creation/editing, research/story development, interviewing, volunteer organization, social media amplification, tech skills, or leadership, or can help by finding stories or sharing one of your own your talents are needed.

By coming together, we create a space to foster empathy, spark meaningful change, and ensure these crucial stories are heard. Personal stories can move hearts and minds in ways facts alone cannot—they turn statistics into urgent calls for compassion and justice.

Join us on 11 Mar (Wed) 7 PM CT for a powerful evening of connection, learning, and action. By coming together as the Indivisible community, we can ensure our voices—our stories—shape the future we want to see.

Sorting Soup: A Book Club for Resistance & Resilience

THURSDAYS / SUNDAYS - Zoom .. Thursday’s @5:00 / Sunday’s @4PM CT Zoom

Feeling overwhelmed by the scale of what we're facing? You're not alone. That's why Sorting Soup has evolved into a space where we do more than just talk about the news—we read the blueprints, name the patterns, and build the knowledge we need to resist authoritarianism with clarity and purpose.

Sunday Seconds: Go Deeper, Catch Up, or Just Breathe

Missed Thursday? Need more time with the material? Just want to process with a smaller, quieter group? That's what Sunday Seconds is for. Every Sunday morning, we reconvene to revisit the previous week's reading in greater depth. We slow down, pull out the quotes that hit hardest, highlight contributions from first-time speakers, and make space for the reflections that didn't quite fit on Thursday night.

“Young Voices Build Stronger Democracies”

Saturday, MARCH 14TH@2PM CT / 3PM ET on Zoom

Join us on for this 2nd inspiring Zoom conversation that reminds us: *the next generation isn’t waiting—their one day is now.*

Indivisible’s NorthWest Suburbs of Chicago (NWSOFA) invites you to a dynamic discussion with young leaders who are already shaping the future. Rather than talk *about* youth civic engagement, we’re listening directly *to* the voices at its center.

The conversation continues! NWSOFA’s One Day is Now: Young Voices Build Stronger Democracies is back with a fresh youth forum of panelists. We’re handing the mic to three student leaders to tackle the issues that matter most to them in this heated political climate.

From diversity and women’s rights to domestic violence and the future of education, come hear how the next generation is advocating for change.

Join the conversation on Saturday, March 14 at 2 pm CST.

_Their stories highlight how Gen Z is mobilizing peers, balancing hope with realism, and forging meaningful paths to change._
