Join us for the upcoming Destructive Persons Training, March 8th at 12:15 (Sanctuary), March 10th at 1:00 PM in the Sanctuary, or March 12th at 6:00 pm. This training will cover a range of topics, including identifying suspicious behaviors, understanding how to de-escalate confrontations, and in case of an emergency with an armed intruder, the specific protocols to follow in case of an emergency. Earth Based Rituals Group: Imbolc Ritual and Celebration

Monday, February 2nd, 6pm to 8pm Come celebrate the Pagan Celtic holiday devoted to St. Brigid, her healing abilities, and the return of the light. We gather around the altar to give her offerings and receive healing in our lives. This is a family friendly event. Faith & Film Series with Rev. Tim: Slay the Dragon

Sunday, February 8 at 6:00 pm

Gerrymandering is a heated topic, from Trump’s Texas interference to Newsome’s Prop 50 and beyond. The film provides a fascinating exploration of gerrymandering and other forms of voter suppression, and the ways to stop their impact. Variety proclaimed this 2019 film “the most important political film of the year, and it may prove to be one of the key political films of the decade.” Registration requested.

An Introduction to the Dao De Jing 

2 Sessions: Wednesday, February 11th AND 18th at 10:00 am (Sanctuary) or 6:30 pm (Zoom) Facilitated by Rev. Tim Kutzmark

The foundational work of Chinese Daoism, the Dao De Jing sets forth a spiritual vision for living in a world estranged from its natural order and plunged into division amidst the struggle for dominance and authority. We’ll take a brief dip into the Dao and discover its relevancy for us today. Brief, simple readings will be required (or audio of the same).

Mosaic Makers Anti-Racism Workshop 2/15/26 The 3rd Sunday of Every Month at 12:15 pm (In-person at Alluvial Ave.) Facilitated by the Mosaic Makers Team In response to the UUA Commission on Institutional Change’s 2020 report, Widening the Circle of Concern, the Mosaic Curriculum Series was created to foster cross-generational conversations about inclusion and spiritual growth in our evolving Living Tradition. The Soto Zen Meditation Group, Starting Wednesday, February 19th at 10:00 AM Facilitated by Soshin Bruce Jewell

Rev. Soshin Bruce Jewell, a transmitted teacher in the Soto Zen lineage, will be giving a multi-week class covering the basic practices and teachings of Zen Buddhism.  The course will include meditation instructions, The Four Noble Truths, The Eightfold Path, the Precepts, the Buddhist Psychology as illustrated in the Wheel of Life tanka, and two fundamental sutras. The 2nd Sunday Social Justice offering for February will be for KFCF Radio 88.1 on the far left of your radio dial. KFCF is part of the Pacifica Network and much of its programming comes from KPFA in San Francisco. This is the 50th year anniversary for KFCF and this station is and has been supported100% by its listeners/subscribers for all these years. KFCF has a variety of programing including the award winning Democracy Now, Ian Masters' Background Briefing as well as local music, local politics and news from KPFA,

MESSAGES TO CONGREGATION

From February 2-11, the Men's Restroom will be closed for construction. There will be portable restrooms available for men on February 7 and 8. From February 16-20, the Women's Restroom will be closed for construction.

The orange trees in the orchard behind the church are ripe for picking! Please bring a bag and pick sweet oranges for your family or yourself to your heart's delight! This is a fun family activity.

Hearing Assistive Devices are available at the Sound Booth for those attending Sunday services who require assistance in hearing spoken words, and, in particular, sung lyrics. The audio feed to the devices has been set so that vocalists will be prominent.
