Please join us for our next UU Seniors Meeting, Tuesday, October 15 at 10:00 am in the sanctuary . After check-in, where we discuss what has happened since our last meeting, Don Farris will lead a discussion on love - what it means, what it means to you, synonyms for love, etc. Please think about what you can add to the discussion. Chalice Circles offer the gift of spiritual connection and are ideal for someone who is new to the church or long-timers. All Chalice Circles take place at the church with the exception of the phone call style circles. Chalice Circle groups offer spiritual connection with 8-10 people. Groups will meet with a facilitator two times a month from October to June on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays at (10:30 am), 2nd & 4th Wed at (6:30 pm,) 2nd & 4th Thursday at (6:30 pm), 2nd & 4th Friday at 9:30, and 2nd & 4th Sundays at (6:30 pm). For more information contact Rev. Money Matters Lecture Series Part 3: Investing For A Bright Future: Half the battle of understanding investments is understanding the language. This workshop explains what the investors are saying in fun and simple terms. Coupled with the workshop information is a practical exercise to demonstrate the ups and downs of the stock market. BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS (and stuffed animals, too!) Sunday, Oct. 6 at 10:30 Rev. Tim will welcome “all creatures great and small” to our Blessing of the Animals (and stuffed animals, too!). Come with your dog, cat, bird, fish, elephant, bunny or other animal friend (please make sure all animals are leashed or crated). Bring your stuffed animals and other cuddly comforts, because they’ll get a special blessing. Bring pictures or mementos from past pets who have died. We’ll be creating an altar to honor their memories. Come explore what animals teach us about spirituality and our connection to the natural world.

After being pestered with the question, “Where are you from,” a child goes to her beloved abuelo. He gives her an answer that’s loving and comforting, without shying away from the difficult aspects of their family’s past. Lyrical and beautifully illustrated, this will hit home with children from immigrant families. Come by the Bookstore and take a look. Profits go to the church.
The October 2nd Sunday Social Justice Collection will go to the CCWF Holiday Gift Bag Project which provides a holiday gift (personal care items) to each inmate of the Central California Women's Facility in Chowchilla. This project sends love and hope to women who most often fell unworthy of respect and caring. Checks made payable to UUCF with 2nd Sunday SJ Donation in memo line.

The UU Social Justice Team's annual call for 2nd Sunday Social Justice Collection applications is now open for submission. Applications are available at the Social Justice table in the courtyard each Sunday or by contacting Ellis Vance at . All applications must be received by November 1, 2019.
