Faith and Film Series: "The Last Boat Out and "Silent River" . A Double Feature About Water and Humanity. Tuesday, January 22 Morning Session (10 am - noon) Evening Session: (7 pm - 9 pm) Join Rev. Tim to watch and discuss two short documentaries about our spiritual relationship to water. "The Last Boat Out" is about a family struggling to preserve their way of life working in the Chesapeake Bay. "Silent River" follows a young woman as she defied death threats to try and save the one of the most polluted rivers in Mexico. Registration is required. Did you make a New Year's resolution to read more in 2019? Come by the Bookstore, this Sunday! Choose from thought-provoking works, like America's Original Sin, by Jim Wallis, or satire, like Stephen Colbert's Whose Boat is this Boat. All profits that Colbert makes on his book go to help victims of Hurricane Florence, and any profits we make, as always, go to support our church.
The Social Justice Second Sunday Collection recipient is the Alternatives to Violence Project. Founded in and developed from the real life experiences of prisoners and others, AVP encourages every person's innate power to positively transform themselves and the world and provides workshops for adults and youth in personal growth and conflict management. Checks to UUCF with AVP in the memo line.Martin 

Luther King Day March - Monday Jan. 21st 9:30 am assemble time. Join Rev. Tim and our Social Justice Team for Fresno's annual MLK Day March. We gather at St. John Cathedral (2814 Mariposa Ave). March kicks off at 10:00 am, stops at City Hall, then proceeds to the Veterans Memorial Auditorium for optional MLK Program (2425 Fresno St.)

As a UU auction event, I'll play an hour of piano music -- with flute and voice ---- at the Clovis Senior Activity Center, 850 4th St., at 10:45 AM on Thursday, January 10. The program will explore the intersection of popular music with classical music. Free; donations are welcome. Barbara Ulman
To insure proper record keeping, all contributions made to UUCF should be clearly noted what they are intended for. Contributions received without a note are applied to pledge-of-record, if applicable, or towards unpledged donations. If you are in doubt of the specific fund, a short note of explanation will suffice. Our office will contact you if further clarification is necessary.

For those who've done so, thank you for including this church in your charitable planned giving.
