Flower Communion Sunday, May 12 (Mother’s Day) – Everyone is invited to bring a flower with them to church (from a garden or store) for our beloved annual ritual that celebrates beauty, human uniqueness, diversity, and community. Feel free to bring extra flowers if you wish for those who forget!

The May UU Men's Fellowship Dinner is set for Friday May 17 at 6:30 pm in rooms 5-7 at the church. Ron Satigian has agreed to be the host and will choose a topic. Ron will provide the main dish, and each man will be assigned a dish to bring. The comradery is great and the discussions are heartfelt. All men are invited to attend. Alluvial Community Garden has plots available. Join a community of gardeners as we share knowledge, make new friends and enjoy the bounty of our work. Individuals, families, or groups are welcome. Tea and a Tour. Join Member Services Coordinator Patty Bennett for an informal opportunity to learn more about our church. Meet in front of the pulpit for a brief tour of the church campus followed by conversation over a cup of tea (or coffee). Patty Bennett, msc@uufresno.org .

UU Buddhist Fellowship is hosting a meditation and a dharma talk by the Rev. Kinrei Bassis on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 10am to about 2pm . Rev. Bassis, a monk for forty years, is the abbot of the Berkeley Buddhist Priory, a temple that follows the Zoto Zen tradition. Meditation time will begin at 10am, followed by Rev. Bassis' dharma talk "The Way of Non-Attachment." Questions and socializing over lunch (bring a bag lunch) will follow. Tea and cookies will be served. The Holiday Gift Bag Project is currently collecting gift items for the 3000 women incarcerated at the state prison near Chowchilla (Central California Women's Facility). A list of needed items will be available on the patio along with a box for donated items. Volunteers are also needed. SACRAMENTO: Immigrant Day of Action. Hundreds will raise a unified voice in support of legislative proposals that advance immigrant integration. Join us at the Capital Building in Sacramento May 20th / 8:30AM. More information can be found on our church calendar. There is no organized UU-Specific carpool or bus.
