2021 Business Count
The Region is seeking information from all businesses including home-based businesses, schools and hospitals, store-fronts, professional offices etc. Gathering data is especially important this year as the Durham Economic Task Force works to support business recovery.

The Region’s Business Count team will be travelling throughout the region and where possible, will not enter businesses to help keep the process safe for everyone.

Ontario Tourism and Travel Small Business Support Grant
The Ontario Tourism and Travel Small Business Support Grant provides one-time payments of $10,000 to $20,000 to eligible small businesses in the tourism and travel sector. Learn More
Microloan Fund and Black Business Hub Launch
The Afro Caribbean Business Network Foundation is excited to announce our new MicroLoan Fund to help entrepreneurs of African and Caribbean heritage get access to low interest loans. The program is currently designed to give out loans between $500 and $2500. Learn More
Durham Region Employer Survey
The DWA and the Social Research Centre at Ontario Tech, with significant input from community partners, have worked collaboratively to develop a survey designed to provide significant information on employers in Durham Region.

Your contribution to this process is extremely important and highly valued. The surveys are anonymous and survey results are kept confidential. The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.

Starter Company Plus - Next intake July 2021
This entrepreneurial program is for existing business owners operating between 1 to 3 years who are ready to start (market ready/ready to sell) to expand (hiring employees, contractors or getting a location) or buying a business in Durham Region.

The program includes business training, mentorship and an opportunity to apply for a grant of up to $5,000. Visit the webpage to apply and to review the eligibility criteria
Women's Entrepreneurship Program
This women's program is virtual coaching & mentoring to help start a new business plus access to apply for a $2,000 microloan. For businesses operating less than 6 months. Learn More
Digital Main Street Program
Receive free digital services from our Digital Main Street squad. This program is available to business over 1 year in operation who have a physical location - (commercial lease or own a commercial building).
