Monday 6/27 at 6pm

Broadway actor & author Sharon Wheatley reads from and discusses her newest memoir Drive, written during the pandemic and the Broadway shutdown. She will also discuss originating her role in Come From Away. 

Tuesday 7/12

West Caldwell native, Neale Godfrey will discuss her path from the Caldwells to the business world to Oprah, teaching children financial literacy and showing how to raise financially responsible children and grandchildren. 
Wednesday, May 25th at 7pm

Join us for an in-person book club to discuss Ishiguro's newest book, Klara and the Sun.

Set in the U.S. in an unspecified future, the book is told from the point of view of Klara, a solar-powered AF (Artificial Friend), who is chosen by Josie, a sickly child, to be her companion.

Senior Strength Training
Senior Strength is moving to IN-PERSON classes!!

In May, our senior strength courses led by Leena Kalle will move to two Thursdays a month at 2 pm IN PERSON, starting on Thursday May 19 at 2pm.

Intro to Sewing:  

Tuesdays June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28 at 6pm:  

Join our local resident, Linda Haver, as she teaches us some basic sewing techniques on the library's sewing machines. Or bring your own machine! 

Throughout the four sessions, we will be making some items for you to keep and some pieces that we will donate! 

This includes but is not limited to: microwave cozies, pillowcases, and tote bags! This class is extremely limited so sign up early! 

Registration at WCPLNJ.org to hold your machine until payment is made. The class costs $20 for materials for all four weeks. This payment can only be made in person with cash or check no later than May 31st. Please call 973-226-5441 or email programs@westcaldwell.bccls.org if you would like to register with your own machine. 

*Please note that this class is for patrons who are 18+.
"Don't Get Scammed: Fraud and How to Avoid It."

JUNE 7 11:30am:  

The West Caldwell Public Library in partnership with the West Caldwell Health Department presents "Don't Get Scammed: Fraud and How to Avoid It."


Join Melanie Hazim, from NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, NJ Office of the Attorney General as she discusses consumer fraud & how to avoid it. She will talk about phone scams, emails, identity theft, door-to-door, text messages and other situations.

Integrity House's Reach for Recovery van
Integrity House's Reach for Recovery van will be in the library parking lot on May 26, 2022 from 10-3pm.

They provide:

  • Substance use assessment with Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) consultation
  • Health and wellness screenings
  • Care coordination
  • Narcan distribution
  • Community resource sharing

The nonprofit's Reach for Recovery team includes an addiction specialist (LCADC or CADC), an LPN who will complete basic medical screening, a peer recovery specialist to provide support, and a prevention specialist to provide education.
Friday Afternoon Movies
WCPL will be screening movies every Friday at 1:30pm.
