Summer Reading Challenge continues

Reaching 1,000 points in the Summer Reading Challenge automatically enters you into a prize raffle to win some really cool things! Haven't signed up for SRC yet? The challenge runs from June 1 - August 1 and all ages can register and track reading.

Are your kids looking for more things to read? We have suggestions here! Don't forget, we're also streaming fun events for the kids too. Visit our calendar for more info.

Live Reading Recommendations

Looking for your next read: Join us online on Thursday, July 16, 2:00p.m. - 6:00p.m on our Facebook (@chandlerpubliclibrary) or Instagram (@chandlerlibrary) for your personalized reading recommendations. We'll post this image and you can comment telling us a couple of books that you've enjoyed. Then we'll suggest a few more that we think you'll like.
Show Your Support
Did you know that contributions made to the Friends of the Chandler Public Library helps us to:
  • Continue strong annual support of the Summer Reading Challenge for all ages, children's events, and adult cultural programming
  • Partner with schools to support the Read to Succeed tutoring programs to ensure first graders have the literacy skills needed for school success
  • Provide funding for small-group tutoring sessions and large-group conversation classes to those who speak or read other languages besides English among the 71 home countries represented
  • Engage school-age children, teens, and the maker community with STEAM programming.
You can support the work that the Friends do by purchasing used books online. We have many items for you to choose from in our online bookshop.
Don't forget to use @AmazonSmile for all purchases made through smile.amazon.com. Choose Friends of Chandler Public Library as your charity on that site and percentage of your total sales will be donated to the Friend. It's easy!

Career Tips
Looking for a new career? Career Transitions can help! Browse career paths or assess your interests with interactive questionnaires, write a resume and cover letter, practice interview skills and more. There's even a job search tool powered by Indeed, and you can get it all in one place, in the library or at home, free with your library card!

To access Career Transitions, start at chandlerlibrary.org, hover your mouse over the purple Research & Learning tab, then choose A-Z List of Resources and scroll down to Career Transitions. You'll need your library card and PIN if you're signing in from home. Then pick an activity from the front page and get started. You can create a free account on the Career Transitions site if you want to save your information.

Can't make it in to the library to get a card? We now offer eCards that allow access to our online resources, including Career Transitions! If you're a Maricopa County resident, you can fill out the online form to register for your eCard. See more at our Get a Library Card page. eCard users can come in to the library later to upgrade to a full-access card that allows checkout of books and other physical materials.
