Celebrating Barb Murphy
Excellent employee, friend, and soon-to-be retiree!
With heartfelt sentiments, we announce the retirement of Barb Murphy, Chief Financial and Accounting Officer of HealtheConnections. Barb joined HealtheConnections in January of 2014 and has relocated to Pittsboro, North Carolina, to be closer to family.

On behalf of our participants, stakeholders, Board members, professional colleagues, and team members, I offer our warmest congratulations on her retirement.

Personally, words cannot attempt to convey her importance and influence on our successful growth and accomplishments. She was a trusted advisor and respected leader - with an impeccable work ethic and proficiency. She exemplifies all the attributes of our company’s culture.

She may be retiring from our day-to-day operations but is very much part of the bedrock we’re built upon.

Congratulations and all the best, Barb!

You’ll be missed.

Interactive Report Launched to Support Regional Vaccination Networks
As part of our ongoing work to support the COVID-19 response, HealtheConnections recently launched a new interactive report for the three Regional Vaccination Networks (Hubs) located within the HealtheConnections footprint.

The Hubs were established in December by Governor Cuomo to ensure the equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. The three Hubs include 19 counties across New York State, representing more than 1.5 million peopleSUNY Upstate Medical Center, serving the Central New York region, Mohawk Valley Health System, serving the Mohawk Valley region, and United Health Services, serving the Southern Tier.

HealtheConnections has provided customized interactive reports of vaccination data for their regions. The reports provide up-to-date information about the people vaccinated, detailing how the vaccinations are distributed across zip code, age groups, gender, race, ethnicity, and vaccine administration sites and manufacturers. This data helps the Hubs monitor the vaccines' distribution across subgroups and increase access to underserved populations within the region. HealtheConnections is pleased to have the opportunity to work together with the Hubs to maximize the reach of the COVID-19 vaccines across our communities.
You Can Now Access More Than 1.8 Million Vaccination Records Through Our Portal
In partnership with the Department of Health and other nonprofit organizations like us, the essential COVID-19 information you need is now available through our portal. In fact, we are pleased to announce that over 1.8 million vaccination records have been loaded into the system, with more being added each day.

These tools enable providers and public health partners to more effectively track the vaccination progress where it matters most to you—your community.
Grant Awarded for the Expansion of myPopHealth Application
HealtheConnections has been awarded funds from the Division of Chronic Disease Prevention at the New York State Department of Health, to expand the myPopHealth application for Local Health Departments (LHDs).

The funds will be used to add a new report presenting prevalence estimates of Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD). This report will provide LHDs an interactive tool to estimate current ASCVD prevalence for their county, based on aggregated data from the Health Information Exchange (HIE).
Supporting Hospitals with our myAlerts Service
HealtheConnections is happy to announce that we will be supporting more than 25 hospitals to adhere to a new policy mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The policy, which is effective April 30th as a condition of CMS participation, states that hospitals must send electronic admit, discharge, and transfer (ADT) notifications to providers with an established patient relationship.

HealtheConnections has been active in sending alerts for many years and currently deploys more than 2 million alerts to our communities each month. It was a natural fit for HealtheConnections to partner with hospitals to provide solutions to satisfy this new policy.
Connecting Clinical Laboratories and
Eliminating Test Result Wait Times
As part of New York State's efforts to combat COVID-19, Governor Andrew Cuomo expanded executive order No. 202.82 on December 13th, 2020, requiring all clinical laboratories with more than 25 employees to become HIE participants. Private, secure bi-directional access to patient information by other qualified entity participants is now required by law.

HealtheConnections quickly jumped into action to connect clinical labs, making the necessary data available. To date, we have connected 22 new labs and expect to connect an additional 17 in the coming weeks. On average, HealtheConnections receives more than 2.9 million lab results each month

This data is critical because it allows us to deliver labs directly to your organization through your EMR or our myConnections portal. The added benefit of accessing labs through our myConnections portal is viewing all the information you need in one easy-to-use interface, eliminating wait times for test results.
