Greetings!

As we enter the winter months, HFH is working to ensure that families at HFH Family Residences have continued access to quality education, employment, and recreation opportunities.

As the school year progresses, early childhood education students have been exploring jazz through virtual workshops, while K-12 students have been connecting with volunteer virtual tutors from the UC San Diego PAL program. For Halloween this year, staff at HFH Early Childhood Education Centers and K-12 Afterschool & Recreation got creative with spooky classroom decorations, virtual pumpkin decorating, and colorful goodie bags. Meanwhile, Allie's Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment has graduated its first cohort from Knife Skills, which provides adult students with the fundamental techniques required for employment in the culinary industry.

The Saratoga Scoop Presents...Meet the Eagles!
Budding reporters for the Saratoga Scoop, Saratoga's in-house K-12 Communications Club, caught up with their fellow students about afterschool, in-person learning, and life at Saratoga for an upcoming video.

As always, our work wouldn't be possible without the staff, partners, volunteers, and supporters who ensure that Homes for the Homeless can continue to provide support for over 700 children and their families each year.

FAMILY SERVICES, ADULT EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT
Our Family Services Department is the nucleus of what we do. When a family comes into shelter, that is that first department that they really work with. Our overall goal is to have this experience of homelessness be their only or last experience of homelessness.

It has been wonderful to connect the HFH youth to the PAL students who are so thoughtful, caring, experienced and reliable.”
