What an amazing month October was for the city of Eastvale! We enjoyed our biggest State of the City ever and celebrated our third annual Eek!Vale Halloween and Culture Festival! I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to every single resident, visitor, business owner, public safety personnel, and dignitary that attended both events.
In October we also announced upcoming events like our Veterans Day Ceremony and Diwali Festival! Please check out this edition of What's New Eastvale to learn all about these opportunities.

The City of Eastvale, JCSD, and the Eastvale Chamber of Commerce are proud to partner together for our upcoming Veterans Day Ceremony.
This special ceremony will be November 11, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. at American Heroes Park. It will feature a presentation of the colors, the national anthem, the Pledge of Allegiance, dignitary comments, a special wreath tribute, a plaque tribute for former City Council and JCSD Board Member, Dickie Simmons, and a Veteran guest speaker.

The City of Eastvale, and the Sands Cricket Association are hosting the annual Diwali Festival, which will be held at River Heights Intermediate school on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Make sure to join us for this FREE, family fun night which will include amazing cultural performances, food trucks, craft vendor, kids activities, and more!

Eek!Vale Halloween and Culture Festival
On October 21, 2023 the City of Eastvale was excited to welcome nearly 10,000 residents to our third annual Eek!Vale Halloween and Culture Festival! We hope everyone that attended had a memorable experience and enjoyed the entertainment, activities, haunted tour, pumpkin patch, food, and vendors!
We would also like to extend a HUGE thank you to the volunteer/community groups that provided tremendous support including the Kiwanis Club, ERHS Key Club, ERHS Song Team, City of Eastvale Volunteer Group, Eastvale Youth Council, Eastvale Little League, CAVA, and Friends Church Eastvale!

Veterans Day Signs Are Here
It's that time of year again!
The City of Eastvale and the Eastvale Chamber of Commerce will once again offer Veterans Day signs! FREE signs available to Veterans will say "A Veteran Lives Here" and can be ordered by contacting the City of Eastvale at svasquez@eastvaleca.gov.
Signs supporting Veterans can be purchased from the Chamber of Commerce by emailing info@eastvalechamber.org.
Signs will be available for pick up at City Hall!

Eastvale Celebrates its Biggest State of the City Ever
On October 5 the City of Eastvale and the Chamber of Commerce were honored to welcome nearly 800 residents to our annual State of the City Address!
Residents were able to enjoy Mayor Todd Rigby's address, several videos capturing recent city accomplishments, and of course, the Taste of Eastvale featuring 29 amazing food vendors!

Second Annual Fire & Police Appreciation Day
The City of Eastvale and the Eastvale Chamber of Commerce are thrilled to host our 2nd Annual Fire and Police Appreciation Luncheon on December 12 at 11:30 a.m.! We want to host a luncheon to recognize and honor our fire and police departments for their continued commitment and dedication. The luncheon will be at New Day Christian Church.
Single tickets will be sold for $40. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities can be purchased on the Chamber's website.

The City’s Adopt A Roadway Program is better than ever as almost every single roadway in the program is currently adopted and being cleaned on a regular basis!
We’d like to thank the many individuals and groups keeping our city clean through this program.

Walk, Bike, & Roll to School Day With Rosa Parks
The City of Eastvale, JCSD, and RSO had great morning on October 4 celebrating Walk, Bike, & Roll to School Day!
The City joined Rosa Parks Elementary for this yearly tradition.
It’s always fun seeing the community come together to appreciate law enforcement and to enjoy our great parks.

Economic Development Business Walks
Each month members of the City Council, City staff, and the Eastvale Chamber of Commerce visit the most visited businesses in various shopping centers!
Recently, Mayor Todd Rigby, the Chamber, and City staff made a trip to Costco and Chick-fil-A to express gratitude for their contributions to the city. These visits aim to enhance community-business relations and appreciation for the local business community!
Thank you Chick-fil-A and Costco for all that you do to help our community thrive.

Pack Boxes for Active Duty Military Personnel
The city of Eastvale is fortunate enough to have non-profit groups like Operation Community Cares as a part of its community. Operation Community Cares focuses on serving active duty military personnel over seas.
On November 18, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to noon, the organization is hosting a Holiday Pack event where they hope to pack 1000 boxes for deployed military personnel. The event will be at Hillside Community Church in Rancho Cucamonga.
The organization will also be setting up for the event and taking donations Friday, November 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Bill Essayli Stops by for a Visit

Love Eastvale, Shop Eastvale
The City of Eastvale previously launched its “Love Eastvale, Shop Eastvale” campaign during the COVID-19 Pandemic to encourage residents to support local businesses. The successful campaign took a hiatus as the pandemic receded. This year, the City relaunched the campaign to generate additional enthusiasm for residents to continue shopping locally!
Starting August 14, 2023 residents or visitors who complete all of the following actions can receive a free “Love Eastvale, Shop Eastvale” gift bag at the Eastvale City Hall:
- Take a picture with a local small business and share it on your social media.
- Follow the City of Eastvale’s Facebook and/or Instagram account, including “Love Eastvale, Shop Eastvale” accounts.
- Subscribe to the City of Eastvale’s newsletter.
- Share a receipt of spending at least $50 in Eastvale after August 14, 2023.
Those who receive gift bags also have the option of entering an opportunity drawing to receive gift cards. Be sure to complete these actions and redeem your gift bag at City Hall while supplies last! More information can be found on Eastvale Elevates.

We’re excited to announce that the My Eastvale app just got better!
Residents with the My Eastvale app have City Hall in the “palm of their hand” as they are able to easily submit service requests, view City Council agendas, check in at the front counter, and are now able to receive text notifications!
Notifications will include things like event reminders, road closures, and emergency updates.

Southern California Edison STEM Scholarships
The Edison Scholars Program will grant 30 high school seniors $50,000 college scholarships to pursue their dreams in science, technology, engineering, or math!
This initiative seeks to inspire and encourage a new generation of professionals who will create change and improve society through innovative solutions that benefit communities worldwide. The 2024 Edison Scholars application is open through January 23, 2024. For more information visit their website.

Business Incentive Loan Program
The City of Eastvale is excited to announce that the requirements for the Business Incentive Loan Program have been updated! Businesses who meet the loan program’s requirements may be eligible to receive a loan of up to $100,000 and may be eligible for forgiveness (should the business stay in operation for at least 7 years).
In order to qualify for this program, existing businesses must desire to expand their gross floor area (square footage) by 50 percent or more. New enterprises wishing to apply must qualify as a sales tax-generating business. Businesses applying for this loan must also be categorized as a high-end, upscale, or premium casual restaurant that will provide high-quality food, formal and elevated atmospheres, and wine lists.
