Remaining Grateful
snowflake-cookies.jpg

Greetings!

It is so easy to get bogged down by negativity. There is, however, an alternative.
Make a conscious CHOICE to be happy and grateful.

"How do I do that?" you may ask. Well, this subject has been researched and there are scientifically proven ways to increase your happiness. These include:
  • get more sleep
  • spend time in service to others
  • get outside more
  • plan a trip, even if you don't actually take one
  • exercise - just 7 minutes can work wonders
  • spend less time online, and more time on personal interactions

Remember, this is the season to recapture the wonder you felt as a child. Drive around town and enjoy the holiday lights. Cook something special, just because you like it. Call/reconnect with family and old friends. Remember that you are the only you in the universe. You are infinitesimally unique, so treat yourself like the rare treasure that you are.

Mother and son enjoying swim lessons
What a year it has been! It is hard to believe this year is coming to a close. It is important that we reflect on all that we accomplished in 2020 despite the challenges and trials this year brought. After closing in March, we reopened in June ready to welcome our members and community partners back after 3 months apart! This summer we were able to revitalize our fitness calendar, bring back swim lessons and run our summer camp program. This fall we were faced with the challenge to help support our communities working parents with added youth opportunities. This led us to begin working with the State of Vermont to become a school age hub to support online learning within the SVSU district.

Looking towards 2021 we are ready to round out the year with healthy members and successful programming. Despite added restrictions we have adapted in order to maintain the momentum from the summer and fall. We will finish out our current fitness sessions, maintain our pool reservation system and move to semi-private swim lessons to meet the needs of all our members! If you aren't a member yet we hope to see you in 2021. For all our current members: thank you for your patience and support, we could not do it without you!
