POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES

ADDITION TO TEAM

The Wheatland Police Department is pleased to announce the addition of Officer Drake Quitugua to our team. Officer Quitugua brings valuable experience to our department, having served at the Davis Police Department for nearly two years. We are confident that his skills and dedication will make a significant contribution to our community.

In exciting news, the Wheatland Police Department has been awarded two grants that will allow us to increase our officer presence on the roads. These grants will enable us to aggressively address traffic safety concerns and enforce impaired driving laws. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our community members and these grants will help us achieve that goal.

Additionally, our Code Enforcement division has been diligently working to address various issues within the city to ensure compliance with city ordinances. Their efforts have been instrumental in maintaining a safe and orderly environment for our residents.

WHEATLAND FIRE AUTHORITY

SUPPORTS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

Wheatland Fire Authority are proudly wearing pink T-Shirts this month in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. WFA supports survivors and those who are now fighting against breast cancer. In our profession, cancer is, unfortunately, something that we see all too often. WFA is dedicated to providing education and awareness and to minimize the risks as much as we can. WFA is wearing the pink shirts throughout the month to encourage conversation, encourage people to get screened or

schedule an appointment. It’s important and could save a life.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Construction has begun for the First Street Senior Housing project located at the corner of First Street and E Street. The First Street Senior Housing project will be an age-restricted affordable housing project including 32 residential units with open space amenities, including a community center (kitchen, community room, office, meeting space, and fitness center), pergola with bocce ball, garden, and a dog park.

In addition, the City of Wheatland Planning Commission has approved the Conditional Use Permit and Design Review for a market-rate, 16-unit multi-family residential project located at Main Street and C Street.

The Yuba County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) has also approved the Pottery World/Avoca Orchards Annexation Project. The 30-acre Pottery-World site located at 2090 State Route 65 north of Dry Creek is intended for the future expansion site of the existing Pottery World operations here in Wheatland that are currently located on Third Street.
