A LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Friends,

Behind every scholarship is a story — a student determined to build a better future, a donor who believes in giving back and propelling others forward, and a community saying, “You don’t have to do this alone.”

This fall, we celebrated an incredible milestone: the Cuesta College Foundation awarded a record-breaking 777 scholarships totaling $777,640 for the 2025–26 academic year — the largest scholarship total in our history.

That’s 777 messages of belief telling students:

  • You are capable.
  • You belong here.
  • You are worthy of this future.

Since stepping into the role of Executive Director a few months ago, I have been inspired daily by the collective power behind our mission — from donors and alumni who pay their success forward, to community partners who step up when students need support, to the unwavering leadership of Cuesta College and our engaged Foundation Board, and to the Foundation team who pours their hearts into this work every day.

As a Cuesta College alumna and first-generation college graduate, I know firsthand how transformative this support can be. That understanding fuels my commitment to help every student who is working hard for their future — and to ensure they feel seen, supported, and believed in along the way.

Together, we are building pathways and opening doors across San Luis Obispo County — and we’re just getting started.

Thank you for believing in what’s possible at Cuesta College and for standing with our students as they rise to meet their dreams.

With gratitude,

Katie Osman

Executive Director, Cuesta College Foundation
