Summer is right around the corner, which means it is time to start thinking about summer camp! Creative York is excited to offer both virtual and in-person Arts Discovery Summer Camps this year. Designed for children ages 5 to 14 years old, our weeklong summer camps educate students about the arts and inspire creativity.

Painting Camp: Inspired by Art History

Children ages 11 to 14 are encouraged to register for our Painting Camp: Inspired by Art History! This summer camp will be held from Monday, June 28 to Friday, July 2 from 9am to 12pm at William Kain Park in York, PA!

During this camp, artist, Elizabeth Morrison, will teach students about different artists, historical periods, and art styles. Students will gain inspiration from famous artists of the past to create their own masterpieces using primarily watercolor.
Online Clay Sculpture Camp

Register to join artist, Stacey Filippone, for an Online Clay Sculpture Camp, which will be held via Zoom from Monday, August 2 to Friday, August 6 from 1pm to 3pm.

Designed for children ages 8 to 10, this camp will discuss composition, line, space, and other elements of art. Campers will have the opportunity to build and design 3-dimensional artworks using a variety of surprising materials, like air-dry clay, found objects, and more! All required art supplies will be shipped to the child's home prior to the start of camp.
Art Around the World Camp

Kids ages 5 to 7 are invited to register and join us for an Art Around the World Camp! This fun and educational camp will be held from Monday, July 26 to Friday, July 30 from 1pm to 3pm at Cousler Park in York, PA.

Throughout this camp, students will explore art techniques from around the globe including Mexico, India, Australia, and more! Young artists will then take what they learned from each of these stops to create paintings, drawings, and mixed media projects. 
Watercolor Camp

Register to join artist, Elizabeth Morrison, for a Watercolor Camp which will be held Monday, July 12 to Friday, July 16 from 9am to 12pm at John Rudy County Park in York, PA.

Designed for children ages 8 to 10, this camp will teach students about the different specialty papers, brushes, and techniques as well as how to express their ideas through the material. Campers will have the opportunity to work on pieces that develop their skills, but also allow for creative freedom.
Welcome, Kayode Malomo!

Creative York is proud to welcome Kayode Malomo to our 2021 Board of Directors. Kayode is a local artist as well as the CEO/Creative Director at MalomsyArt Gallery.

When asked what motivated him to join Creative York's Board of Directors, Kayode said, "I am motivated by the amazing work Creative York does to inspire creativity and enrich lives through the promotion of arts in the community. I look forward to being of service in advancing the organization’s mission as it works to positively build and impact a more diverse and inclusive community."
