International Women's Day for Syrian Women

A group of volunteers and CultureLink's staff welcomed 24 Syrian women at a special International Women's Day event at CultureLink.This women-to-women, sisters-with-sisters celebration-an afternoon of friendship, pampering, and learning-was put together with the help of the Rexdale Women's Centre, Happy Sew Lucky, CIBC, and Operation Sock Monkey.

Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) March Break Camp 2016
With spring in the air, March is always an exciting time for youth at Culturelink. And so, CultureLink's SWIS team sprung into action to put together yet another successful March Break Camp!
Twenty-six youth from six different high schools, each speaking different languages and from cultures, participated in the 4th annual March Break Camp for SWIS. For three days between March 15th and 17th youth made friends in an environment of learning through group games, exercises and experiences.   Read more

Proud to be, A Mentor Summit!
This year's volunteer appreciation event - Proud to be, A Mentor Summit, held on March 9, 2016 at CultureLink brought together over 30 mentors and guests.  This was an occasion for Mentors to introduce their responsibilities of their role as part of the program, to family and friends by inviting them to join in the festivities and hear the details of what is involved with being a mentor.  Read more

Sock Monkey making Workshop for Syrian refugees
Our Youth Program hosted a sock monkey making workshop for Syrian refugees, following a successful workshop for our youth program participants where they made sock monkeys and donated the toys to the Refugee Distribution Centre. Read More 

Multicultural Wintegration
"You moved to Canada two months ago, and you've been to Huntsville already! How?" That was a friend's reaction when I told her about the trip I made as a volunteer with CultureLink to Arrowhead Provincial Park in Huntsville along with more than 50 Syrians newcomers.

A group of more than 100 participants came together on March 8th to celebrate the International Women's Day at CultureLink. Established in 1911, IWD is a major day of global celebration for the political, economic and social achievement of women.
