What's New at FPBA?

Featured Project: NuVasive Amenities Building
NuVasive, Inc., a leading medical device company that is transforming spine surgery with minimally disruptive, procedurally integrated solutions, announced on Aug. 29 the expansion of its San Diego global headquarters.

The project involves creating a new three-story, 28,000-square-foot amenities building that will house a surgical suite, fitness center, conference center, full-service cafeteria, product discovery center and campus reception.

Campus site improvements will create a new entry promenade, outdoor cafeteria space/overflow seating, entertainment zone and outdoor collaboration space. The three existing building exteriors will be upgraded to complete the improved campus experience.

In the News: Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library Construction
FPBA celebrated the construction commencement of the Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Harley & Bessie Knox Branch Library on July 31, along with Mayor Kevin Faulconer and Assemblymember Todd Gloria.
"Over the last 50 years, Mission Hills and Hillcrest have grown and evolved significantly," Assemblymember Todd Gloria said at the ceremony. "The Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Harley & Bessie Knox Branch Library is in step with that growth and evolution, and will give these communities a much-needed library facility that can function as a gathering place for the community, a convenient place for students to study, and continue to be used for generations to come."
The City of San Diego selected FPBA, along with C.W. Driver and Manuel Oncina Architects, to execute the design and construction for the 14,500-square-foot facility. Located at 215 W. Washington St., the new library will be more than three times the size of the existing Mission Hills Branch Library and will feature large community gathering areas dedicated to children and teens.

FPBA Off the Clock: Annual Summer Bash
The FPBA crew, family and friends convened on Aug. 5 for the 2017 Annual Summer Bash. From pinching baby cheeks to wrestling in the pool, the party was one for the books!

With food catered by Phil's BBQ, plenty of faces were guaranteed to get covered in barbecue sauce. But that's not all that ended up on our faces. Kids and adults alike were eager to line up for face painting in the form of dragons, fairies and even Iron Man.

Some brave souls made a big splash toward the end of the party with 15-foot jumps from the balcony into the pool. The fun we had won't soon be forgotten!
