Letter From

the President

Dear Friends,

There are so many good things happening at Greyston! Please take a few minutes to read about our recent celebrity visit, upcoming annual benefit, the Bakery's exciting new corporate status and a new program that welcomes tours of the Bakery.

Coming soon, look for the opening of a new gourmet restaurant and catering facility in our own Phillipsburgh Hall on Hudson Street in Downtown Yonkers. Slated to open in mid-April, this Pakistani/Indian fusion restaurant will serve a wide array of foods for all palettes. For catering information, call Jaan at 914-909-9700.

As always, if you have any questions about Greyston, feel free to reach out.

Thank you,

Steven Brown

Ryan Reynolds

Visits Greyston

Ryan Reynolds came for a tour of Greyston this past week. Taking some time off from his very successful acting career, Ryan was introduced to Bernie Glassman, Greyston's Founder, through Jeff Bridges.

After touring our programs and services, he was quite impressed and pledged to become more involved.

Look for more information in the future about Ryan's involvement with Greyston!

Girl Scouts

See How Brownies are Made

A group of 10 third graders from Girl Scout Troop 1024 from Chappaqua recently came to visit the bakery. Led by Dawn Danker-Rosen, these "Brownies" learned how Greyston provide jobs for the hard-to-employ and watched as our brownies were made. Everyone left with full tummies, brownies to take home and lots of information about Greyston!

If you're interested in arranging for a group tour of the Greyston Bakery, please contact Jonathan Greengrass at 914-376-3900 x295 or Jonathang@greyston.org.

Greyston Bakery becomes

New York State's first B Corp!

On February 10th Greyston Bakery became the first company to register as a Benefit Corporation in the State of New York. New York joins six other pioneering states that have passed the 'benefit corporation' legislation, allowing companies to demonstrate higher standards of corporate purpose, accountability, and transparency.

According to Greyston Bakery CEO Mike Brady, "This legislation is a validation of the double-bottom line mission that Greyston Bakery has championed for the past 30 years. We are proud to continue to play a role as a business pioneer as we make history as the state's first Benefit Corporation."

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, Mike Brady & New York Secretary of State Cesar A. Perales

Benefit Corporation status recognizes Greyston Bakery's continuing commitment to serving its community. "All companies that registered to become benefit corporations are making history by recognizing the power of business to solve social and environmental issues," says Greyston Foundation President, Steven Brown.
