#1. Worship This Week
Online Worship this Sunday, January 31 at 9:15 and 11:00 am.

This week's sermon title: Show Me a Sign
by Rev. Jeremy Lawson

Scripture: John 2:1-12

There’s something about us as humans that loves to commemorate our “firsts.” Our first step. Our first word. Our first day of school. Our first kiss. Interestingly, the gospel of John is no different when it comes to the ministry of Jesus because John is the only gospel that records his very first miracle or sign: Turning water into wine. Today, we’ll look at the unique importance of “signs” in the gospel of John and what they can teach us about who Jesus is and what it means to follow him.

Join us for worship Live on Facebook, on our website, and on YouTube at 9:15 am and 11am.

And remember services are always available online at www.hmumc.org/media.

Rep Your Team

The Super Bowl has become somewhat of a national holiday. Really, this is NOT a regular Sunday! We get it: It's the biggest football game of the year! So before you gear up for the big game on Sunday, February 7th, we want to invite you and anyone you know to join us as we Rep our Favorite Teams at HMUMC!

Not into pro football or football ok? Then wear the colors of whom you support: college teams, baseball, basketball, or your kids' sports team.

We will be asking you to submit pictures via social media of your game day set-up - maybe you go all out with food and snacks! We want to see! Be sure to watch social media for when to post!

#3. Share the Love Weekend
Come share the love with your HMUMC Family with a
Valentine's Themed Drive-In Movie Night
Friday, February 12th at 6:30 pm!

Whether you want to join us for a date night or a family night, everyone is welcome. We know this will be a special way to gather with your loved ones and have some fun together in a socially distanced way. In addition to the 2019 action-adventure movie "Aladdin" by Disney Studios on the large outdoor screen, we will be providing bottled waters, bags of popcorn and a special Valentine's Day treat for the whole family! This new version of Aladdin is beautifully done and appropriate for all ages! Click here for the official movie trailer.

There is no cost for the event, but we do invite you to participate in our collection of new socks and new or unused blankets as we share the warmth with our community who are experiencing homelessness. This collection benefits Desire Thy Portion who is a new missional partner of HMUMC that reaches out to people experiencing homelessness with the love of Jesus and meets their basic needs. Upon your arrival, we will have bins to place your donations.

Arrival time will be between 6 pm and 6:25 pm, and our movie will begin at 6:30 pm. Once you register, you will be given an arrival time. We ask that you sign up no later than Wednesday, February 10 so we can coordinate arrival times. Register today!

More information on these events can be found on hmumc.org/sharethelove
Share the Love-Virtual Women's Day Together
Saturday, February 13 from 10 am - 11:30 am online

Ladies, join us online Saturday, February 13 at 10 am as we "Share the Love" in 2021. We have a wonderful agenda put together that is both creative and hands-on! We will be joined by Darlene Adair, Director of Desire Thy Portion, a Buford-based mission that reaches out to people experiencing homelessness with the love of Jesus and meets their basic needs.

We will then "Share the Love" together by putting together needed hygiene kits and will make or include Valentine's Day cards in these kits. You can have the items together in advance or make the kit after the event. We ask that all kits be brought to the church no later than February 23.

No registration is required - you can join online on Saturday, February 13 starting at 10:00. For more information on how to join online and the list of items in the hygiene kits, please visit hmumc.org/sharethelove.

This is going to be an exciting way where we can share the love together!
Send Us a Picture of Your Valentine!
