Annual General Meeting and Victor's Farewell

On September 25, PARC held its Annual General Meeting in our drop-in space, bringing together our board, staff, and member community. More than 50 members joined us to reflect on the past year and celebrate everything we’ve accomplished together.

After the meeting, we honoured our outgoing Executive Director, Victor Willis, who retired after 26 years of leadership. Victor was recognized with a certificate of appreciation from MPP Alexa Gilmour and MP Karim Bardeesy, beautiful gifts from members William and Tyde, and, an incredible performance by the Zephie James Band, the highlight of every PARC event.

With delicious food prepared by our PARC kitchen team and so many familiar faces gathered together, it was such a great send off! Thank you, Victor, for everything you have done to shape PARC into what it is today.

11 Brock Ave.

On October 10, 2025, we celebrated a significant milestone in Parkdale with the advancement of Toronto's first affordable housing project delivered through the Public Developer model at 11 Brock Ave. This development will provide 42 new rent-geared-to-income and supportive homes for individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

This project builds on PARC's mission to create a community where people can rebuild their lives with a vision of ensuring everyone lives with dignity and safety, with the resources to explore and achieve their potential. For over 45 years, we've been dedicated to supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, poverty, and homelessness and this development is a continuation of that work.

Set for completion in Fall 2026, 11 Brock Ave will provide tenants with private apartments with their own bathroom and kitchen, shared laundry facilities, a communal kitchen, and a common programming area. Most importantly, it will provide wraparound supports and connection to services they need to rebuild their lives. Tenants will pay no more than 30% of their income, or shelter allowance of their social assistance, on rent.

This development is a testament to what can be achieved when all levels of government come together with local service providers. We are proud to be part of this transformative project and look forward to welcoming tenants in 2026! Patrick's Story

Patrick is PARC’s Harm Reduction and Restorative Justice Worker, and one of the many people who make the PARC community so great. Having faced his own challenges with substance use and homelessness, Patrick brings real understanding and lived experience to his work.

Lorraine Johnson and South Parkdale Pollinator Gardens

PARC had the pleasure of hosting a special event with best-selling author Lorraine Johnson on Saturday October 18th, organized by the South Parkdale Pollinator Gardens. Lorraine gave a talk on the fascinating relationships between native plants and the many creatures that rely on them, from bees and butterflies to beetles, moths, ants, and birds.

We are so grateful to the South Parkdale Pollinator Gardens for bringing this learning opportunity to PARC and for donating 25% of the event proceeds raising over $160 to support our work!

Supportive Housing Fund

Thanks to the generosity of our friends and neighbours, the Supportive Housing Fund has already reached over $6,000 toward our $200,000 goal.

It might not sound like much yet, but this is how change begins! Through meaningful gifts from everyday working people who care deeply about their neighbours and community. Each contribution, no matter the size, helps provide tenants with what they need to feel at home and allows PARC to make much-needed repairs to our older buildings.

If you are able to, please consider supporting the Supportive Housing Fund today. Your gift will go directly toward keeping our tenants safe, secure, and supported.
