Pets of the Homeless received a call from a homeless man who lives in his car in Santa Ana, CA with his 1-year-old Shih Tzu, Kiwi.  Kiwi was hit by a car a week ago and had a broken pelvis and a dislocated hip.  Kiwi was taken to three hospitals before his owner learned about Pets of the Homeless.  His owner was able to afford x-rays only and had received estimates to repair Kiwi's pelvis and hip in a range of $2,700 - $8,000.

Pets of the Homeless contributed the maximum lifetime allowable benefit towards Kiwi's surgery to repair multiple fractures.
