It’s been another busy month at The REACH Institute. In May, we led four PPP trainings (Patient-Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care), including one in partnership with Columbia University – read more on that below. You’ll also read about the national award that REACH licensee, CanREACH-SK, is receiving this month.

June is Pride Month! All year long, REACH is committed to ensuring that every child has access to effective mental health care. Research shows that LGBTQIA+ children face greater barriers and are at increased risk of anxiety, depression, and suicide. This month we’ll be sharing resources and information on our social media highlighting the intersection of mental health and the LGBTQIA+ community, so I encourage you to scroll down and follow us on your preferred platform.

As summer approaches and we continue our mission to improve mental health care, I’m grateful for the support and collaboration of our clients, licensees, alumni, and allies in the fight to ensure every child and family has access to the mental health care they need.

Training for pediatric residents & faculty at Columbia University

In May, we delivered our flagship training, the Patient-Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care (PPP) program, to pediatric residents and faculty at Columbia University, as well as faculty at Weill Cornell.

The training enabled a new group of providers in New York to enter the workforce ready to deliver the most up-to-date, evidence-based mental health care to their patients. This is a huge step toward ensuring all children have access to the quality mental health care they deserve!

REACH licensee receives national award!

Join us in celebrating REACH licensee, CanREACH-SK, for receiving a national award for excellence in Collaborative Mental Health Care. This prestigious recognition – jointly awarded by the Canadian College of Family Physicians (CCFA) of Canada and the Canadian Psychiatric Association (CPA) – is a testament to the exceptional work being done in Saskatchewan to ensure all children have access to evidence-based mental health care. Congratulations to the CanREACH-SK team!

Licensed sites independently deliver the Patient-Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care (PPP) program to providers in specific geographic areas with continuous support and quality control from REACH.
